Whitney Houston Wardrobe Malfunction Live on "X Factor"

For the one of the few times ever in the history of wardrobe malfunctions, Whitney Houston had a wardrobe malfunction that was actually a genuine wardrobe malfunction. It wasn't some wind blow aside someone's skirt or dress. It was not an exposed breast from leaning to far. Whitney Houston really had a wardrobe malfunction on the latest episode of the "X Factor." A strap broke. It malfunctioned.

While singing "Million Dollar Bill" on "X Factor" Sunday evening, Whitney Houston suffered a true wardrobe malfunction when a back strap on her dress came loose during her performance. But before anyone should get too excited and start heading to YouTube or the end of this article to catch the video, it must be said that stating that it was a true wardrobe malfunction only means that some part of her wardrobe actually broke or came loose or apart. That does not mean that any body parts were actually revealed although that is what most people expect when they see the term "wardrobe malfunction." But not this time. Just a simple back strap came loose. Nothing more.

Being the professional she is, Whitney Houston barely acknowledged it.

Whitney Houston's "wardrobe malfunction" occurred about two minutes into her performance. She seemed not to notice at first, then roughly 15 to 20 seconds later she attempts to do something about it. However, since the wardrobe malfunction occurred behind her, she couldn't quite reach the problem area. And she continued.

After the performance, she said, ""I sang myself out of my clothes."

Not quite.

Clothes not functioning the way they were designed to aside, Whitney Houston's performance was a crowd pleaser. But the broken strap seemed to have undone her as well. She had trouble with the judges panel afterward, according to Elizabeth Snead at the Dish Rag, stumbling over her words, saying 'um' numerous times, making many wish for the days when Whitney Houston could form an entire sentence without seeming to lose herself in the middle of a sentence.

When was her album coming out? Pause, then: "Yeah, the um... the album? It should release this weekend, or next week sometime. I'll be back here in April for the tour."

Whitney Houston, after her years of drug abuse, seems as disconnected as the back of her dress. Unfortunately for her, and this article, Whitney Houston speaking is now nearly as interesting as her wardrobe malfunction.

At least she can still sing...
