Who is Andrew Garcia? 'American Idol' Hopeful Creates Buzz Before He Even Appears on Show

So who is this Andrew Garcia guy anyway? His name has been linked to the American Idol auditions, yet his audition hasn't even aired yet. Last night's promo showed a brief clip of him, presumably for next week's American Idol Los Angeles auditions show. But why has Andrew Garcia already become so popular? And can he even sing?

Andrew Garcia is rumored to be one of the Top 24 American Idol semi-finalists, if leaked Top 24 lists are to be believed. He already has a Facebook fan page with 1900 fans and over 5400 people following him on Twitter. Many posts on both Garcia's Facebook and Twitter pages declare him "The Next American Idol". With all the buzz- and the fan base- this Morena Valley, CA native has already created, is Andrew Garcia the most savvy American Idol contestant on the planet?

After last night's Orlando auditions, American Idol fans are waiting for someone to really get excited about. While there were definitely some deserving contestants in Orlando, Simon and the gang went a little soft and let through quite a few mediocre singers on last night's episode.

The hype that Garcia and next week's L.A. auditions have already created is sure to bring in big ratings for FOX. Not that Idol's ratings are a problem: USA Today reported that last week's season premiere of the FOX megahit pulled in over 29 million viewers. But the hype around Andrew Garcia is sure to draw in even more viewers for the show, even if it's just out of curiosity.

If you're looking for a sneak preview of his singing abilities, a search on YouTube turns up some videos of Andrew Garcia, including one with him strumming on a guitar while performing a duet with a friend.

Whether the American Idol Top 24 rumors are true or not, one thing is for sure: Andrew Garcia has already made a name for himself in what may be the most clever American Idol marketing campaign of all time.

You can catch the Los Angeles auditions on American Idol next Tuesday, January 26th at 8:00 PM ET/PT on FOX.

Andrew has the most unique, AMAZING voice ever and he truly deserves to make it big and have his voice heard. I hope America realizes this once they hear him and vote vote vote and make him the next American Idol!

I don't think its a clever marketing campaign. I came across Andrew on You Tube while looking for a music video. His cover of the song was in my search results. I clicked on it just for kick and was blown away. I have been following him and the Adrian William project ever since.

    Hmmm.

Andrew Garcia is one of the best singers I have ever heard. All the hype...believe it! I've been a fan for a long time, and it's nice that he's finally getting the recognition he deserves.

FOR THE RECORD!! Andrew Garcia can sing! He brings ratings because he's what you call, "Youtube famous." People fall in love with videos and his voice. Well, I wish Andrew Garcia the best! :]

He's okay, but I think I like his friend better.

I absolutely agree that the Orlando auditions were disappointing and that they let through some clearly untalented performers. Of course, I'm sure there will be surprises ahead but Andrew Garcia seems to have a significant fan base.

    Excellent... :o)
