Who is the Bigger Idiot? Hanley Ramirez or Chris Johnson

When you sign a contract the terms of that contract are binding until the expiration of that contract. Billions of working people around the world understand that concept but spoiled professional athletes really seem to struggle with this notion. Most recent example being Chris Johnson. Chris Johnson is a phenomenal athlete. The guy is seriously electrifying. I will never forget the first time I saw him play against Boise in his last college game. The only guy I have ever seen on TV who you could actually tell was out of this world fast. With that being said, his latest antics tick me off. You sign a contract and you stick to that contract. If you become all-world in the middle of the contract, it is still binding. If you become all-horrible in the middle of that contract, it is still binding.

Situations like this make me hope that NFL players and the NFLPA gets absolutely demolished in the upcoming CBA. They whine and and they whine about the money the owners are making but they forget that the owners are the ones who have something financially invested in the team. Most players do not have a single cent of their own money invested in the team. The owners are the ones who tooks the huge risks to build the franchise. Not the players. The players may help the owners make billions and if they are unhappy about that they can find real jobs like the rest of us.

I truly believe the public's reaction to this will be different than say it was 5 or 10 years ago. Post recession/current recession (depends on who you ask) has given many Americans a different perspective than what they had a few years ago and the millions of Americans out of work should revolt against guys like Johnson who make up their mind that they are worth more money despite their signature saying something different.

Final Note: Hanley Ramirez has proven himself to be a classless jerk. I don't care if you thought he was hustling or not you do not call out your manager in that way and insult your teammates. Not sure what his citizenship status is but if he is not an American citizen here is to hoping he takes a trip to Arizona and forgets all of his documents. Send him back to the Dominican on a one way flight and let him play for $10,000 a year there.
