Who is Calling You from "402-982-0705"?

Researched Information About the Origins of Phone Number "402-982-0705"

Unsolicited phone calls are annoying at best, and against the law at worst. If you have been receiving phone calls from "402-982-0705" and want to know who is calling, what they want, and how to stop the calls, here's the info you need!

I recently received a phone call from this phone number to my cell phone, a phone that is not listed anywhere and has not been used for anything but friends and family. In other words, there would be no reason whatsoever for anyone to call me on this number, especially if it were a business.

I attempted to call this number back this morning. I heard a prerecorded message that said "If you do not want to receive promotional phone calls in the future, please press seven to be placed on the do not call list." I listened to this recorded message three times, as I wanted to reach a live representative to ask who they were and what they wanted. Sadly, that option never transpired. After the message was repeated three times the phone hung up.

When I returned home this morning, I look up the phone number on the Internet. As it turns out, phone number "402-982-0705" is a telemarketing number. The company is trying to say that they are calling on behalf of the FBI, and they want to pay you to install security devices to your home in order to spy on your neighbors. Obviously this is not accurate, as the FBI does not solicit business by phone, nor would they ask you to spy on your neighbors. If the FBI were truly interested in you, your property, your neighbors, or anything else that require such spying devices, they would see you in person. In most cases, and especially with today's modern technology, the FBI does not need to rely on private citizens in order to gain the information that they need.

I have read in other forums that this company will continue to call even when you put your name on their do not call list. Some of the people who have responded on the forums have stated that their phone numbers are currently listed on the government do not call list, but they still get phone calls.

In my case, since the phone call was received on a cell phone, and a phone that is not used for anything but friends and family, it is obvious that the phone call was conducted by an automatic dialer. The latest laws regarding telemarketing prohibit automatic dialers as well as to cell phones.

Here is some information about the company that is calling you from phone number "402-982-0705"...

If you should get a phone call from this phone number, be aware that the company could be fraudulent. You will not speak to a live or presented it. Rather, if you answer the phone, you will receive a prerecorded message talking about how the FBI wants to pay you to install wiretaps, electric fences, security cameras, or any other type of " security" feature, but always to spy on your neighbors. They might also say that there is an increase of crime in your area, and want to offer you peace of mind with their home security devices. Finally, another sales pitch says that they will give you a free home security system if you will agree to put their sign out in your yard.

From what I have read on other forums, apparently this company also does some door to door sales, giving the same sales pitch. So far, all reported incidents of these phone calls has involved an automatic dialer and no live representatives at all.

Should you receive a phone call from this company, try to record the conversation. I personally keep a digital camera beside my phone for this purpose. Anytime a telemarketer calls me I always record the conversation by using the speaker phone option on the phone and the video record option on the camera. In this way I have a reliable account of what was said by whom, vilations of the law, repeated calling, and so forth. In this case, should they call again, I will be ready for them!

It is advised to report all phone calls from "402-982-0705" to the FCC. For your convenience, here is a direct link to the website for this purpose: http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm

The phone number 402-982-0705 is being used by an abusive telemarketing company hired by ADT Home Security to sell their alarm monitoring services, regardless of whether or not you are on the DO NOT CALL list.

QUESTION: Do you really feel comfortable enough with "ADT Home Security" to provide your home with protection when they so blatantly ignore our privacy laws? I don't.
