Bio: Derek Fisher was born on August 9, 1974 in Little Rock, Arkansas. During his high school years he was the starting point guard for the Parkview Arts and Science Magnet High School. After high school he went to University of Arkansas at Little Rock for four years, majoring in communications. His college career averages were 12.4 points, 4.4 rebounds,and 4.2 assists.

After graduating he was selected as the 24th overall pick in the 1996 Draft by the LA Lakers. He would go on to spend his first eight seasons with them. The most memorable shot he made during his time in LA was the .4 second shot against the San Antonio Spurs. That shot gave the Lakers the momentum to advance to the Western Conference Finals for the fourth time of the decade. Derek was a vital part of the Lakers three peat and would later be a major part in the Lakers fourth title of the decade.

After spending eight years with the Lakers Derek signed a six year 37 million dollar contract with the Golden State Warriors with the promise that he would be their starting point guard. Despite this Derek was soon replaced by Speedy Clayton and Baron Davis mainly because flaws of the Derek Fisher game was exposed. Two seasons later the Golden State Warriors trader Derek Fisher to the Utah Jazz. The Utah Jazz traded for Derek Fisher so that he could be a mentor to Deron Williams. During the 06-07 playoffs Derek Fisher's daughter was diagnose with a rare form of eye cancer. Despite this Derek Fisher made key shots in the Western Conference Finals versed the San Antonio Spurs. After the playoffs Derek Fisher asked to be released from his contract with the Utah Jazz to move to a city with the help his daughter needed. Later in the off season Derek Fisher announced that his daughter had a successful surgery in removing the cancer in her eye and that he thanked the Utah Jazz for giving him the help he needed. A few weeks after the announcement he resigned with the LA Lakers helping them the title in 2009.
