Who Exactly is Joe the Plumber?

Well the final presidential debate has aired on ABC between Democratic nominee Barack Obama, and the Republic candidate, John McCain. While some important topics were discussed, and some questions were answered, many more questions were left. Not the least of which is: who exactly is Joe the Plumber?

After being mentioned a staggering 21 times by both presidential candidates during the debate (and some say even more), Joe the Plumber definitely took the spotlight in the debate. John McCain even jokingly said that the winner of their third and final debate was indeed Joe the Plumber.

But who is Joe the Plumber? Well for starters his real name isn't even Joe - it's Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher (which McCain mistakenly pronounced as Wurzelburger), and he is just your average father from the little town of Holland, Ohio. But he has been thrust into the media spotlight, and it's not all for the better.

Details have been released on some of Mr. Wurzelbacher's personal finances, and his home has been shown and aired hundreds, if not thousands of times on televisions all across the world. It has further been discovered by the news media that Joe the Plumber is not even a licensed plumber in the state of Ohio - something that he will need to attain in order to purchase the plumbing business in which he plans; which is the original topic that started this whole debate when Joe the Plumber met in person with presidential hopeful Barack Obama.

Joe the Plumber, as he stated in his face to face consultation with Barack Obama in Ohio, believes that he will pay more taxes under Obama's tax plan if he does indeed go through with the purchase of the company which he works for. However, financial experts all across the nation agree that it is likely Joe the Plumber will actually save money underneath Barack Obama's tax plan, and McCain's will end up costing him more.

No matter what, one thing is clear: Sam Wurzelbacher, also known as Joe the Plumber, has had his 15 minutes of fame, and more than his share of the presidential spotlight - though this trend shows no signs of slowing for the time being. At the moment, his name is one of the most searched names on the internet, and his face has appeared on every major television network more times than anybody can possibly count on one hand.
