Out of utter fear he runs for his life, towards the balcony, only problem was he was on the tenth floor, he looks down at the pool as he looks at the beast racing towards him. He said to himself, "I can't make this?", but realizing he has no choice he splashes into the six foot deep pool. When he sees the beast make the leap itself he gets out of the pool and runs out of the complex and down to the parking lot just a few yards away. He franticly takes out his keys, he sees the beast on all fours looking for him in the parking lot. They become eye to eye, he runs towards his car, puts the keys in the ignition as fast as he can and races off. But not before the beast crashes into the passenger side door, knocking itself dizzy. Jack drives out of the parking lot and races down the street through a neighborhood, but he forgot to gas up. He panics when he realizes he has a flat too and then the car just stops on it's own.
Then there it was, the beast, it hadn't even started to give up. He swiftly gets out of the car and races through the big park, only to realize this is the beasts specialty, trees and forest and this was a very wooded park. He was in trouble because he'd already past through the grassy area. "Good, I lost him", he thought, as he races out of the other end of the park towards a gas station. Jack races into the station where he is fact to face with the cashier, out of breath. The cashier frowns, thinking he's some sort of crazy man. "May I help you, sir?", the simple clerk said. "Do you have a phone, I'm being chased by a ...?", Jack said, stopping himself in the realization that it sounded ridiculous. "Yeah, in the back, next to the restrooms", the clerk suspiciously said.
He walks over to the phone, picks it up and dials a number. It was the number of Julia, the only one he could trust, his good friend. "Julia, come on, pick up the phone", he nervously says, and then a very tired Julia answers, "Hello?". Jack composes himself, takes a deep breath and says, "I need your help, Julia, I'm being chased...by something". He could sense a long sigh from her, almost as if she had gone to sleep while on the phone. "Jack, if this is a joke I'm not going for it, I got to bed late", she said in a very annoying tone. "I swear it isn't and I'm not drunk", he says, pleading with her. "Call me tomorrow, if you're not dead or injured then it can wait until tomorrow", she hangs up on him leaving Jack worried and frightful. So he goes into the restroom.
Looking at the mirror after washing his face he looks at himself, wondering if he's hallucinating, and says, "Maybe I'm schizophrenic, God I hope not", looks down and then looks up again. "Just my imagination, that's all", and he leaves, confident, even laughing at the situation. But when he opens the door he hears a loud shriek, and looks in all directions for the beast. But all he sees is the maimed and half eaten body of the cashier. He takes a long stare at the cashier, the man was definitely dead, and Jack races towards his car, and gets in. He finally makes it home, parks his car and goes inside his apartment, exhausted by the ordeal. Jack plops down in front of the tv and turns the channel to ESPN to watch the NFL games highlights and falls asleep.
When he wakes up he opens his eyes, looks at the ceiling and grins, "It was just a dream. Just a dream". But then it came...another knock at the door. But it was daytime, "maybe it's only a night beast", he thought, and walks confidently to the door. He opens it and sees a beautiful woman with long black hair. "Hey, I'm Ginger", the woman enthusiastically announced, " you didn't forget our date did you?" Surprised, "sort of, I had a long night, sorry". She almost smirks, nearly laughs, "that's okay, happens to me a lot, guess that's why I'm still single". Relieved at her easy going nature he tells her, "I wasn't too keen on blind dates but then Julia always had good taste". She blushes, flattered, says, "Aww, how sweet! Can we go to a movie or something, I already ate?"
He hadn't eaten in twelve hours and judging by the fact that her suit dress she was wearing said she's on her lunch break all over her told him she definitely didn't have breakfast, so why wasn't she hungry. "Let's go", Jack says, brushing off his suspicions and he closes the door behind him. They get in the car and stop at an intersection when he says, "I didn't think you would be so nice, but Julia has said so many nice things about you". She beams at this, but then Jack sees something in his peripheral vision, the necklace, it's on her. Not knowing what to do he just goes through the light when she says, "There is something I have to tell you, Jack" as she leans in to whisper in his ear, "I'm a real man eater". She takes a big bite into Jack's neck, blood gushing onto her face, and he would've screamed until he saw something he'd never think he'd see...he was growing claws and paws on his human hands. And that was the day when Jacks life changed forever, that's the day he found his soul mate, that's the day when someone was knocking at his door.
