Who Got Voted Off American Idol: American Idol Results from Week Two

New American Idol results were announced on Thursday, as fans found out who got voted off the show. The second week of American Idol was much better than the first week of competition this season, with a couple of contestants (including Michael Lynche and Alex Lambert). The second week seemed to also allow most of the contestants to work out their jitters, vastly improving the overall quality of the American Idol performances these past two days. There were still a couple of singers that struggled a bit with their performances, and they definitely came in to the American Idol results show at risk of being sent home.

The first four American Idol contestants that were sent home last week included Janell Wheeler and Ashley Rodriguez from the girl's side, and over on the guy's side of things it was Joe Munoz and Tyler Grady that went home in a somewhat surprising results show. It left a number of fans, as well as the judges, wondering who would be voted of the show in the second week of voting. It certainly looked like Michael Lynche is going to be safe for a long time to come in season nine of American Idol, but does he have the support from the fans that is needed to keep progressing on the show?

When host Ryan Seacrest began going through the potential eliminations, everyone in the studio audience went silent. They started with the guys during the results show, and the first elimination was John Park, who gave one more performance on his way off the stage. The second guy sent home was Jermaine Sellers, and then it was time to talk to the girls. Former contestant Daney Gokey performed his new single before Seacrest went to the women. This provided a bit of a shocker, as first Michelle Delamor was sent home, and then Haeley Vaughn was sent home to end the show. This will certainly lead to quite a few discussions about the second American Idol Results Show.
