One interesting note is the amount of people behind the original films that are involved in this great title. Dan Akroyd, Harold Ramis, and Bill Murry's wise cracks will be back for there roles as Ray and Egon, not to mention they have even been helping edit the script. On top of that, nearly the whole cast (well, the important ones) will be back as well. The only notable new actor will be Alyssa Milano, who will be voicing Dr. Ilyssa Selwyn.
The storyline will pickup around five years after the events of Ghostbusters 2, and business is picking up. Believe it or not things are going so well for our 'busters that they are actually hiring new recruits and playing with brand new ghost busting equipment. This is where you come in, known only as "Rookie", you will be armed with such weapons as a slime blaster, boton laser, and a "Shotgun Laser" (I've dreamed my entire life to hear those two words together.) As the rookie, its your job to try out these new inventions of Egons and see how well they work while in use. You will be the first pick for any scary looking things that need to be checked out or touched, for example, if you find a door leading to an alternate dimensions you'll be the first to try it out, what fun!
Everything in the game feels like it comes right from the movies, you'll visit the old firehouse, and drive around in the infamous Ecto-1, which is parked outside, you guessed it, the giant French doors that lead to the Sedgewick Hotel. The only note to make is on the Wii version, which looks to be more of "The Real Ghostbusters" inspired graphics style, presumably to be a more family friendly version, but still uses the same plotline.
It will be your job to save New York over and over from all things paranormal. Gozer the Gozarian is back and up to its old ways, and of course is deciding he looks good as the Stay Puft marshmallow man.
That wont be it though, you'll of course encounter Slimer, along with Viggo and the ghost librarian at one point in the game, but naturally you will be running into an entire slew of new creatures and goblins to deal with as well. Everything from human processing, slime throwing, flame breathing demons will be coming at you, so you had better be ready with some adult diapers and a lot of wet naps when this game releases, because two things are guaranteed, your going to get scared, and your going to get slimed.
