Born in 1973, Jason Frank took karate classes as a kid, with a goal of becoming a martial arts actor. His first break came in 1993 when he was cast as the Green Power Ranger. Jason Frank became one of the most popular Power Rangers before leaving the show in 1997. He starred in more Power Ranger episodes than any other ranger, 243.
Through Jason Frank's Power Ranger days, he held a strong interest in martial arts. He earned a black belt at age 12 and owns multiple karate schools. It wasn't until 2010 that Jason Frank got involved in professional mixed martial arts (MMA) though. On August 5, 2010 Frank beat Jose "Garfield" Vasquez in only 46 seconds. Vasquez, who previously had been a pro boxer, was stopped with a rear-naked choke. Jason Frank had previously won four MMA fights as an amateur.
Jason Frank, who is a Christian, also owns a clothing line called Jesus Didn't Tap. His goal is to get a contract with Strikeforce. When that happens, Frank may become even better known as an MMA star, and less as the Green Power Ranger. Maybe in the future he won't have to deal with his opponents mocking him, like when his second amateur opponent came into the ring wearing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles costume. A few more beatdowns of those who mock him should take care of that problem.

Post a CommentGo Jason!
Jason also returned to Power Rangers Dino Thunder in 2004. He finished filming a sci-fi/fantasy type film called The One...Warrior before his third amateur MMA fight in May 2010. However, he didn't get into karate with the intent to become a martial arts actor. It was his karate skills that got him in the door for Power Rangers.
Yes, he got his black belt at 12, but he also started teaching classes at 14 and owned his first school by the time he was 18. When he started PR, Jason was 19.
He has his own facebook page where you can find out more about the man. Just go here: http://www.facebook.com/jasondfrank

Thanks Mandy! I thought the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle costume was hilarious.
