Who is Joanna Krupa ?

Am I the only person who had never heard of these three until it was announced that they would be among the so called celebrity contestants on season 9 of Dancing With The Stars?

If you do not recognize their names either, here is a brief summary of their celebrity accomplishments.

Joanna Krupa is a Playboy cover girl model who has also been on the covers of Envy, Inside Sport, Steppin' Out, Maxim and others. Maxim named her the Sexiest Swimsuit Model in the World. Joanna Krupa has also been a model for Sketchers shoes and Frederick's of Hollywood. She has also had small acting roles on the television shows Las Vegas, Son of the Beach and the Jenny Jones show and the movies Planet of the Apes remake and Legally Blonde. Most recently Joanna Krupa was featured on the tv show Superstars, a celebrity game show where she was partnered with Terrell Owens.

Aaron Carter is a pop and hip-hop singer and the younger brother of Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys. Popular with preteen and teenagers, Aaron Carter reportedly has dated Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and Kaci Brown. He was briefly engaged to Playboy model Kari Ann Peniche. Aaron Carter and his brothers and sisters appeared in a reality show named House Of Carters, in which the siblings lived together in the same house. He has also had small roles in the tv shows Lizzie McGuire, Sabrina The Teenage Witch and 7^th Heaven, and in 2001 performed on Broadway in the show Seussical The Musical. In 2008, Aaron Carter was arrested in Texas for speeding and possession of marijuana.

Mya, born Mya Marie Harrison, is an R & B singer/songwriter and record producer. Her first album was released in 1998. She is working on her sixth album which is scheduled to be released in the fall of 2009. Mya is also an actress and has appeared in the movies Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, Shall We Dance?, Cursed and Chicago. She won a Screen Actors Guild for her work in Chicago. In 2001, Mýa teamed up with Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, and Pink to record Lady Marmalade, for which they won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals. In 2005, Mya founded The Mya Arts & Tech Foundation, a nonprofit organization devoted to helping disadvantaged youngsters.

Season 9 of Dancing With The Stars will premiere on September 21^st. Joanna Krupa will be paired with professional dancer Derek Hough, Aaron Carter with Karina Smirnoff and Mya with Dmitry Chaplin, along with thirteen other celebrity contestants and their professional dance partners.
