Who is Keith Halloran? (And Why Does He Want Sarah Palin to Die?)

The Democratic State House Candidate, Keith Halloran, Makes a Crude Facebook Comment

K.L. Stevens
Just a day after the tragic plane crash that killed former senator Ted Stevens and four others, Democrat Keith Halloran, who is a New Hampshire state representative candidate, posted on a Facebook page that he wished Sarah Palin and Levi Johnston were on board as well.

D.J. Bettencourt made a Facebook post talking about how people should be respectful towards Sen. Ted Stevens even if they disagreed with him, while linking to a Politico article about his death. In his post, Bettencourt even said, "Politics should never be personal." Keith Halloran apparantly did not get the memo. His comment is the third and it says, "Just wish Sarah and Levy were on board..." The next comment is from Peter Sullivan and says, "Completely uncalled for, Keith."

Keith Halloran is the Democrat candidate for Cheshire County House District 7 and he currently serves on the Planning Board in Rindge, NH. D.J. Bettencourt, who made the original post, is a Republican state representative. In response, the New Hampshire Republican communications director, Ryan Williams, released the following statement, ""His publicly stated death wish for Governor Palin and her family is abhorrent, and has no place in our public discourse."

Keith Halloran has not released a statement or an apology as of yet.

I dunno (so far as some of the commentary,) I don't care who the jab is directed at, there needs to be a bit more "decorum." It's gotten totally out of hand. I may not care for Hillary Clinton, but when I was in the military, I stood when she came into the room. I hated (totally despise) some of my bosses and I always stood up and showed respect. This thing with outrageous remarks lobbed toward people and their families just lends a bit of weight to the idea that it's all gotten a bit out of hand. To many people watching too many episodes of Jerry Springer or something. I'd like to see a little less "Trailer Trash" talk and a bit more substance. Can't we ALL try act like we are adults? So far as your article, I did really enjoy it, it's my 2nd read and I've favorite-d you and am reviewing your work. Great JOB!

So, I guess it isn't hate speech as long as you say you want a conservative Republican to die! Hi KL, thanks for following me on Twitter. I just reciprocated and found your article there.

@dwstick. And the Democrats wonder why so many people are leaving their party to become Independent or (gasp!) Republican.

A Democrat said this?! How can this be?! According to the 'mainstream' media, Democrats are tolerant, progressive, compassionate, understanding, etc, etc, etc. It's Republicans who are mean-spirited, hateful, bigoted, arrogant, condescending, etc, etc, etc. I wonder if ABCCBSNBCCNNMSNBCPBS is covering this. Or any big-city newspapers. Or any of the major news magazines. I stopped reading/watching all of them years ago after seeing them all kiss Bill Clinton's butt, so someone's going to have to tell me if this was covered, and what (if any) spin was put on it.

Well, apparently Keith Halloran just posted an apology on his Facebook page...

Interesting link. The comment was especially funny/disturbing b/c it was in response to a post asking people to show respect!

I'm sorry, but... I dislike Sarah Palin with a vengeance but I would never want to wish her dead or that any harm come to anyone. This guy's an a**h*le!

Who are these people??? Who would publicly state they wished someone else should die??? Who elected this guy and I want to know why they elected him!!! Inexusable behavior for anyone, especially a public servant!!!!

Just got a message from someone who works for The Town Of Rindge... Keith Halloran is NOT on the planning board as other media outlets have reported... Is he the one that's feeding the MSNM that line of bull? Or did the MSNM fail to do their research?

This character is known for remarks like these, whether it's at the town meeting or the town bar. That's the same bar (one of several) where he hunkers down and tells anyone who listens about the vast Right Wing conspiracy that’s out to get him. This is the same Keith Halloran who mocked incumbent Susan Emerson after her husband died during the 2008 campaign. This is the same Halloran who threatens to have people arrested for asking him tough questions on Facebook! This is the same Keith Halloran who's allegedly handing out business cards telling people that he's ALREADY the State Rep… the election is still in November.

The same Keith Halloran who said this about Dick Chenny after a stint in the emergency room? "Pull. The. Plug."
