Who is Lauren London?

Lauren Nicole London is an American model and actress who emerged on the scene in 2003. If you've seen any of a number of videos by popular rap stars, Pharrell, Snoop Dogg or T.I., you may recognize her. According to Wikipedia, the emerging star was born on December 5, 1984, in Los Angeles, California, where she grew up. Her debut acting role was as "New New" in the movie, "ATL." Her recent engagement to rapper Lil Wayne made news headlines in December 2007.

Lauren's no stranger to the hip-hop world either. Along with R&B singer, Cassie, Lauren is considered "the face of Sean John", the popular clothing line by Diddy. She's also dropped vocals on several songs on the Pharrell album, In My Mind. Her most notable music video appearance was Snoop Dogg's Drop it Like it's Hot. In addition, she's been in the music videos for other Pharrell songs, Frontin' and That Girl. Transworldnews reported on 12/26/07 that she had become engaged to her on and off boyfriend of several years, rap star Lil Wayne. Previously she had been linked to other celebrities such as NBA star Baron Davis and rapper T.I. According to Vibe.com, she was also the date for Diddy's son, Quincy Brown, at his sweet sixteen birthday bash on December 16th. London also appeared on the cover of the popular hip hop magazine, KING, in June of 2006.

According to information online from Hip-Hop Honeys, Lauren London became interested in acting at a very early age. In elementrary school, a part was given to her in a school play as a lion who didn't speak English. Lauren had to improvise on the words she used, and this made her more curious about acting. She went to Palisades High School in California briefly, then was homeschooled. This allowed Lauren to concentrate more on auditions for TV, music videos, commercials and movie Roles. She dated rapper Neef of Young Gunz, after a long-term relationship with rapper Lil Wayne. She was also said to have developed serious chemistry both on and off screen with movie co-star, rapper T.I.

Lauren London's breakthrough movie acting role came with her first movie "ATL" which also starred her one time romantic interest, T.I. She went on to star in the popular movie, "Stomp the Yard" and recently the comedy/drama, "This Christmas", in which she played Mel Whitfield. For television Lauren's been on a couple episodes of "Everybody Loves Chris", playing the character, Monay. She's also appeared on two episodes of the hit HBO show, "Entourage". On the show, Lauren played a girl Turtle went out with after convincing her father. Lauren will have an upcoming role in a 2008 movie, "Next Day Air". The movie directed by Benny Boom will be a dark comedy about a "mis-delivered package of drugs". It also will star actors Mike Epps, Donald Faison ("Scrubs"), and rapper Mos Def. Lauren has stated that her plans to attend college are on hold, but she will pursue several courses including psychology, to help her with personal growth and acting development.
