The four women who will star in a ten-episode run of "Mob Wives" includeCarla Facciolo (wife of convicted stock trader and defrauder Joey Ferragamo), Karen Gravano (her father Sammy testified against the mafia after years of service), Drita D'Avanzo (her husband Lee was a major player in the Miami mob and is currently in prison for armed robbery / bank robbery) and Renee Graziano (daughter to Anthony Graziano currently serving time in Butner, North Carolina with an expected release date in early 2012).
One of the things all four women have in common is that they are now single mothers; they've all been involved with men who have been "connected" and have had to pay the price for the crimes they've been accused of. Dressed to the nines in the trailer, I wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of any of them because they look like they'd rip your heart out in a second. While some reality shows try to give the illusion that things are always greener on the other side I have the strong suspicion that Mob Wives is going to be the exact opposite of shows like "Growing Up Gotti" that seemed to romanticize the other side of mafia life.
Is the show going to sink or swim? Only time will tell. Everyone likes to peek behind the curtain to see how someone else lives and there is a certain allure to the mafia lifestyle but all too often when you get past the diamonds and pearls you see the stone cold truth. People go to jail, houses get repossessed and no one returns your phone calls. VH1 stands to do well with Mob Wives if they don't go overboard with the clichés often associated with "growing up mobbed up".

Thanks. I hadn't heard of this. Now, I have something to watch... at least one episode.
Sounds good. Maybe I'll look for it.
