Who Muggles Think Will Survive 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows'

J.K Rowling's wizarding world is now a dark and scary place with the return of the evil Lord Voldermort. This mean that, sadly, more characters both good and evil will die in the final Harry Potter book, 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows'. Rowling has said that two characters that were originally going to survive the book now die and that they aren't the only ones that will die in the final book.

Who will live and who will die is an intensely discussed muggle topic on leakylounge.com in the build up to the final book in the Harry Potter series being released. The part of the muggle thought investigations looks at what muggles are saying about the characters survival rates.

Snape

Many muggles who believe that Snape is actually good think that he will die in order to protect Harry. Other muggles feel that Snape will survive the final book, as his death would not serve any purpose for the story.

Harry

This is one character whose survival chances are being discussed the most amongst muggles. While no really Harry Potter fan wants Harry to die, some feel that this must happen. Some muggles think that in order to destroy Voldermort he will have to sacrific himself in some way. Speculation about Harry dying in the final book was fuelled when Rowling mentioned she could understand why some authors kill of their heroin at the end of the story, in order to prevent others from writing where they left off and thus preserving the story. However, many other muggles feel that Harry will definitely survive the final book because he has had such a hard childhood that Rowling would want him to have a chance at a normal life.

Voldermort

Considering that the whole story centres around destroying Voldermort it is unlikely that he will survive that final book. Most muggles would agree on this stance. However it is how Voldermort is finally defeated that is a popular subject to discuss amongst muggles.

Ron

Ron is one of the most popular Harry Potter characters with muggles and it is hard to find a muggle that wants him to die in the story. Many muggles feel that Ron will not die as this could be one to many people that are close to Harry dying and might prevent him from the task he must complete. Other would argue the opposite and say the Ron's death would only make Harry more determined to destroy Voldermort.

Hermione

As with Ron Hermione's death could have two effects on Harry. He could become more determined or unable to continue with his horcrux mission.

The Weasleys

The Weasleys, consisting of Molly, Arthur, Bill, Charlie, Fred, George, Ron and Ginny have become Harry's family since he found out that he was a wizard. Many of them are members of the Order of the Phoenix and there is a high possibility that at least one of them will die in the fight against Voldermort. Many muggles are hoping that if a Weasley has to die that it is Percy. After turning against his family and only believed what the Ministry of Magic says Percy became very unpopular amongst muggles.

Hagrid

The camp is split amongst muggles as to whether Hagrid lives or dies. Many believe that he is to close to Harry to die in the final book. Other believe that Hagrid will fight to avenge Dumbledore, protect Harry or protect Grawp.

According to a poll carried out muggles feel the survival stats of Harry Potter in the final book will be as follows.

67 percent of muggles believe that Harry will survive the series, 12.5 percent believe Harry will die, 11.25 percent believe that Harry will die but somehow still live on and 8.75 percent still undecided. A whopping 81.25 percent of muggles would not be disappointed if Harry lived while 8.13 percent would be disappointed and 10.63 percent are unsure of how this would make them feel.
