On the season premiere of "LOST" we learned that there are six who get off the island, who become known as the "Oceanic 6." But who are they? We already know 3, Jack, Kate, and Sawyer, thanks to flash forwards in the Season 3 finale and the Season 4 premiere, but we still have 3 more to find out. Here are my picks for the other half of the "Oceanic 6."
Sun
Why Sun? Because she is pregnant. We learned in Season 3, from Juliet, that pregnant women do not survive on the island, unless the baby was conceived off of the island. And when Juliet took Sun to the hatch for an ultrasound to see when the baby was conceived. Sun ended up getting good and bad news (which it probably would've been either way). She knows that her husband, Jin, is the father of the baby (which is the good news, because off the island Jin was infertile, and Sun had an affair right before they left on the plane), but the baby was conceived on the island, which means if Sun doesn't get off the island, she and the baby will die. So, that is the main reason I believe Sun will get off the island and be one of the "Oceanic 6" - so she can live.
Since I believe Sun will be getting off the island, I also think her husband Jin will get off too.
I believe Jin will get off the island to be with his wife, and to be a father to his child when it is born. I just feel that makes sense. Instead of having Sun get off so she can live and have her baby and having Jin stuck on the island for now. It makes sense for Jin to get off the island too.
Jin and Sun both have a reason to get off the island - to have a family. That is why I think both of them will be a part of the "Oceanic 6" and get off of the island.
Now we have 5 of the 6, who is the 6th one?
This one I've had a hard time coming up with a good answer for, a good reason, really.
Sayid
I'm not too sure what is his reason that he would need to get off is, but I was trying to figure it out by process of elimination, more or less. Although Hurley went with Locke's group to stay on the island, we find out he is part of the "Oceanic 6," but I have been thinking someone from Jack's group will be getting off the island since that is what they wanted to do. Since only 6 are getting supposedly getting off, I figured Rose and Bernard would not be it, because then we would have 7 (if Sun and Jin are getting off), and I doubt they would leave each other. I thought, "hmm...maybe Desmond," but then I realized he was not on the Oceanic 815 flight, so he couldn't be a part of the "Oceanic 6" even though he does have reason to get off - Penny. Another one who ran through my head was Juliet - but like Desmond, she was not on Oceanic 815, so I don't think she would be a part of the "Oceanic 6." So, that left me thinking about Sayid. He wants to get off the island, he was on Oceanic 815, and he would easily make it 6 people who get off the island. So, I thought he made sense to be one of the "Oceanic 6," because he, like Jack, just wants to get off the island, even though they are both great assets to the community they had built on the island since their plane crashed.
Just because we only know about the "Oceanic 6" that doesn't necessarily mean no one else gets off.
There could be a possibility that other people do get off the island too, but just aren't known as the "Oceanic 6." We know that Juliet really wants to get off the island. She was only supposed to be there for 6 months, now it has been over 3 years. She has her sister to go back to, and a nephew she has never met. She also has her research to go back to too, since she did all she could on the island - she was not making anymore progress there. So, she has a reason to get off. She also was not on Oceanic flight 815, which could be why she is not apart of the "Oceanic 6." But I'm not really sure she will get off. Just a thought.
Another possibility could be Desmond. He obviously has something to get back to - the love of his life, Penny (Penelope Widmore). He wasn't aboard Oceanic flight 815 either, so that would be why he isn't apart of the "Oceanic 6." But, this is just another thought.
I'm not so sure others will be getting off besides the "Oceanic 6," but these are people who do have a reason to get off.
What is this "secret" that Jack was talking to Hurley about? What is Jack sick of lying about?
Possibly the secret could be that they aren't allowed to mention that there were other survivors, or that there are still people on the island, or anything about the island for that matter. That could also be what Jack is sick of lying about too.
These are just some of the things that "LOST" makes us wonder. But the only way to find out is to keep watching the show! Maybe some of these burning questions will be answered tonight!
