Who Ordered Pepper Spray; Or Did the Cops at UC Davis Take it Upon Themselves to Show Such Hostility Towards Students

Christopher

What happens when you protest against rising tuition and decreased services?

You get pepper sprayed by the cops.

Then again, if students saw what happened to protesters in Occupy Oakland, who got hit with rubber bullets, they should have seen this coming.

Apparently, you have the right to exercise free speech, unless that free speech is against the elite, and unless you are exercising that free speech in California.

The chancellor states that she did not order the cops to use force.

The irony of the protests in California, is that what were the 99 percent, many decades ago, left areas like New York, to build empires out in California, which was still in some ways, the Wild West.

California has always been a liberal place, and always marched to the beat of its own drum.

You might have expected to see this in New York City, where Mayor Bloomberg continues to embrace gentrification, developers, and the eradication of the working poor as the blight that is holding New York back from being the oasis for the rich that it could be. Under ideal conditions, New York City would have more in common with Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and other rich enclaves.

They can't even get the poor people out of Manhattan, let alone the rest of New York.

Why do we have to accept these artificial working conditions? Nothing is as it should be, and everything is dressed up to make America look like a sanitized version of the future, instead of the grimy, ugly, place that it can be. Even the projects look nice these days; something is wrong with this country.

But don't say anything about it. Well if you do; keep your opinions to yourself in California ...
