Who is Perez Hilton

Why was He a Judge on Miss USA?

Mary Kirkland
After seeing him on the Miss USA pageant, you may be asking yourself who he is and why was he a judge on the show.

Perez Hilton has made a name for himself for being an outspoken celebrity blogger. His website (www.perezhilton.com) posts photos, most not so flattering of celebrities and he blogs about them.

His blog has become very popular, mostly because of the bad things he writes about the celebrities. Most certainly his ongoing attempts to try and 'out' celebrities and make them admit they are gay, has made his website even more popular.

With all this aside, you may still be wondering why The Miss USA Pageant thought he was qualified to be a judge on the show. With the question he asked, his response afterwards and calling one of the contestants the "B" word because she didn't answer the way he would have liked, shows just how wrong they were to ask him to be a judge.

His being there as a judge has made a mockery of a classic and time honored show that has been an ongoing thing for women to compete in for years. This year The Miss USA Pageant was overshadowed by a judge and his bad personality. Perez Hilton not only caused controversy in the pageant but also in the American public's minds.

Miss California was asked a question and she gave her opinion, she should not be condemned because her views don't match that of a man who's only known for being a celebrity gossiper. He did not act appropriate for being one of the judges, his comments afterwards should get him disciplined or the very least banned from ever being a judge on any show ever again.

The fact that he was asked to be a judge makes me wonder if the producers of the Miss USA Pageant were just looking for ratings. They had to know that Perez Hilton likes to stir up controversy, it follows him wherever he goes. Perez Hilton has shown us he has no tolerance for anyone who doesn't agree with him and his views.

Why would they ask a gay celebrity gossiper to be a judge of a women's beauty pageant? The question he asked her and the controversy over her answer has made a lot of people believe it may have cost her the crown.

The fact that anyone visits his blog or website shows to me how easily entertained we are these days. If a person like Perez Hilton can make a name for himself by being a controversial, negative, drama queen then what does that say for those that have been supporting him by visiting his website? Anyone who acts the way he does should be ignored, not given the publicity he has been given.

Your last paragraph says it all: Who's stupid? Perez Hilton, or those who fawn over every controversial pile of tripe that falls from his pie-hole? Goes to show, you don't have to have talent, or even a purpose in life, to be a 'celebrity'!

Personally, I find both Perez Hilton and Carrie Prejean wanting in the humanity department. Perez is a pig, a jerk and a scumbag because he plays on the petty jealousy most people have about celebrities for his own profit. It amazes me how this guy managed to parley such shallow and inane 'talents' into an empire and why someone hasn't taken a shot at him by now. As for Ms. Prejean, she's just your typical shallow narrow-minded beach blond bigot who somehow persuaded the pageant to give her a few extra things before she put her foot in her mouth answering a question that most intelligent people would've known was loaded and a trap. Anyone else would've given an appropriately evasive answer that might've satisfied all but the sharpest mind on the panel...which considering who manned it at the time wouldn't take much to cloud.

I find the entire affair of Miss California 2009 to a sad chapter of women's and gay rights and to humanity in general. All who were involved were nothing more

I can't stand Perez Hilton, and think the man is an idiot.
