In Kentucky recently (where else?), someone stole the bust of the famous Kentucky Fried Colonel Saunders. The bust was valued at $1,200 and has been missing for about two months now. The owners of the KFC where the bust had been located offered a reward of $500 - but not in cash, they offered the reward of $500 of grilled chicken!
My first thought was, "How much did the bronze bust of Colonel Saunders weigh?" and how on earth did they lift it away?"
I remember once on April Fools Day, a long time ago, a group of guys in the neighborhood where I was living, picked up their buddy's car and moved it down the street! The young man woke up, looked out the window and immediately phoned the police before his buddies could tell him that it was a joke. When the police arrived, they informed the guy that his car had been located and he had been issued a citation for parking in a no parking zone. It wasn't all that funny in the end for him (of course, his friends had a good laugh).
The missing bust of Colonel Saunders has been safely recovered. It was about 100 miles or so away in the town of Independence, Kentucky. A tipster gave the police all the details. They recovered and returned it to the KFC in Berea. It is noted that the tipster wasn't interested in the reward chicken. I wonder why?
So, as we settle into April Fool's Day and carefully pace ourselves through the motions of pranks today, what are you thinking about?
One of the worst (but harmless!) April Fool's Day pranks to consider:
Get a package of Oreo cookies. Remove the cream from the center of the cookies and replace it with toothpaste! That will never satisfy a sweet tooth but it will help prevent cavities!
I won't be pranking anyone today or anytime soon and I won't be stealing Colonel Saunder's bronze bust, but I do wish you all the very best of days today - April 1st. It only comes but once each year, so enjoy yourselves and have some fun.
