Who Shot Paul Young? was it One of the "Desperate Housewives?"

Lisa Carey
Do you remember the famous phrase, "Who shot J.R.?" on the popular night time drama "Dallas?" It could be that one desperate resident of Wisteria Lane watched this show during their youth and helped them to launch the plan to show Paul Young, neighborhood "bad man" and all around hated guy.

Who shot Paul Young?

Lynette: "When you find out who did it let me know, I want to send them flowers."

Bree: "Detectives, I'm an expert marksman, if I had been aiming for Paul Young, he would be dead."

Paul ends up in the hospital; apparently the shot heard round the block missed its mark. With plenty of suspects, including Mike Delfino (James Denton), the plot thickens as detectives reveal to Paul the truth about his perfect, loving wife and his not so loving mother in law, who has good reason to want him dead.

I have two kidneys let's deal

As a result of the riot, Susan Delfino's (Teri Hatcher) life will change forever as her kidney is removed and doctor's discover that it was her only real working kidney. Faced with the possibility of renal failure, dialysis and a kidney transplant she desperately searches for alternatives.

Renee (Vanessa Williams): "I heard about your kidney and I just wanted you to know I have two and I would like to talk about a deal"

Susan: "It's not up to me to tell Lynette about something that happened 20 years ago, it's up to you."

Attempting to reassure MJ that she is ok, a seizure shocks Susan into realizing her life may be hanging in the balance and she calls upon the "girls" to promise to help raise MJ in the event that something happens to her. Lynette, who has fought her own battle with cancer, says "Absolutely."

No love like a mother's love

Grace is gone, and the only one who doesn't seem to be able to accept it is Gabrielle (Eva Longoria). Carlos, Juanita and Gabby consult a family therapist who advises them to remove all signs of Grace from their life in order to help Juanita heal, after learning that Gabby is not her biological mother. Eerily, Gabby purchases a doll that looks exactly like Grace, leaving us wondering exactly where things will lead for Gabby emotionally in their efforts to make her forget about Grace before she is ready to. Is an emotional break with reality coming?

Hell hath no fury . . .

During a presentation to a client, Renee's guilt finally overwhelms her and the secret is out. Twenty years ago she slept with Tom Scavo (Doug Savant) and the guilt has been "eating her up." Tom and Lynette were broken up, "I'm so sorry" Renee cries.

Lynette: "I don't want to hear it. I can't even be in the same room as you!" But you are my ride so let's go."

In the car, Lynette makes her plans for revenge and swears Renee to silence. "Why don't you want me to tell him? "You slept with my husband; let's just go with because I said so." Tonight, it was hot chocolate that burnt his tongue, but how far will Lynette go to make Tom pay for his sins?

Home sweet home

Keith (Brian Austin Green) and Bree (Marcia Cross) begin their new life together in her home.

Keith: "I see you have started unpacking my stuff."

Bree: "Yes, your books are on the shelves, your trophies in the den and on a sad note your beanbag chair accidentally ripped when I stuck a knife in it and stuck in the trash."

Keith: "And my lava lamp?"

Bree: "Accidentally broke when I pushed it off the counter."

Keith: "Man, my stuff is clumsy."

The relationship between Keith and Bree takes encounters a speed bump this week as Orson shows up on the doorstep begging for a place to stay and another chance. The changes in Bree's character with infusions of bits of humor and passion are most convincingly portrayed as she first walks away from the food fight between Orson and Keith and later tackles and mud wrestles Keith in "steer manure" to convince him that she loves him.

Keith: "Why would you want to be with Sloppy Joe when you could be with Coq au Vin?"

Bree: "You listen to me! That's who I was, not who I am now. I have never worked harder in my life to keep a relationship and if I have to sit in a pile of steer manure to prove it to you then I will!"

What will happen next week? Susan needs a transplant and Lynette continues her quest for revenge. Look for a surprise appearance by Susan's mother, and this episode will not be the only time the character "J.R. Ewing" and "Desperate Housewives" will meet. Once again, "Desperate Housewives" leaves you "desperate" for more.
