The Eastern disciplines are the only ones that can provide the same benefits of other activities in just 30 minutes a day. Because of this, T'ai Chi is done by people from all walks of life. People of all races and income status use the T'ai Chi to get and stay healthy. There are no boundaries between people. T'ai Chi teaches people to get to a state of sameness and simplicity of the heart and mind. There are benefits for all practitioners that will last a lifetime.
There are several forms of T'ai Chi. These are taught around the world. Until recently, the forms of T'ai Chi could be learned only from specific teachers. There are now videos, television shows, internet sites, books and magazines that can teach anyone who wishes to learn. Simply put, T'ai Chi is available to everyone. The most common form of T'ai Chi that is taught is the Yang method. Most people start with this form and then after becoming more familiar with T'ai Chi, decide whether to continue with this style or try another. Once you learn a new form, you will see that even though they are different, they still are able to heighten each other.
You can start T'ai Chi at any stage in your life. You do not need to lift weights to become stronger. It does not matter how flexible you are. Even if you are currently overweight, you can start T'ai Chi. If you can only move your limbs enough to get partially into the poses, it is still possible to do T'ai Chi. You just do what you are able to do. It will work for you and your abilities will get better the more you practice.
T'ai Chi is a wonderful way to get into better health. If you have had a stroke or heart attack, this form of exercise can help you get better control of your muscles and it will also help balance problems.
The art of T'ai Chi is gaining popularity every day. This is because it is available to anyone who wishes to partake of the form of exercise. There are no requirements other than the ability to move just a little bit. Hopefully, you will decide to include T'ai Chi in your health plan and discover the joys of this form of exercise and meditation.
