Who Should I Vote For? Obama or McCain in the 2008 Presidential Election?

Here's a Brief Financial Questionaire to Help You Decide

Rusty Perez
There are many reasons to choose either John McCain or Barak Obama in the 2008 presidential election. Both Barak Obama and John McCain offer interesting possibilities. Each of them promises to improve the situation in our country, but whose situation will be improved the most? John McCain seems to be interested in helping wealthier Americans. Barak Obama seems to want to help those of us who are les well off. Where do you fall?

I am not going to tell you who to vote for. I am going to give you some financial questions to ask yourself and you can make the decision.

Do you make more than $250000 a year?

Only 3% of all Americans make more than a quarter million dollars a year according to an article on the AARP web site. That's not many of us.

McCain promises to keep taxes low for the richest Americans. That's nice.

If Obama is elected, he promises to keep taxes low for those who make less than $250000 a year-that's me!--while allowing taxes to go up for the richest Americans. Obama will also raise the social security tax for the richest Americans.

Are you expecting a rich uncle to die and leave you some money? Obama will ask for nearly half of anything over $3.5 million. $3.5 million is a lot of money. McCain will let you keep $5 million before he starts asking for his taxes.

Isn't $3.5 mill enough? I don't know about you, but I don't know any one who's gonna leave me even 3.5 million dollars.

Do you own a corporation? McCain promises to cut taxes for business owners.

Obama says he'll raise taxes on items like home sales, but only if you make over $500000. He'll tax your stock earnings, but he'll get rid of taxes for senior citizens who make under $50000 a year, and he'll give a $500 tax credit to any one making under $75000 a year.

This all sounds complicated, and I've only mentioned a few items here. You should check it out using the link I've provided. The bottom line is that If you are rich, one of the 3% of Americans who make over a quarter million dollars each year, you should vote for McCain. If you are middle or low income, like 97% of us, Obama will save you money in this difficult economy.

M.S. Beltran may be right. I'm guessing that Business folks will raise prices and fire people if their taxes go up . . . unless . . . unless they recognize their greed for what it is.
I believe that success is often confused with greed. Greed causes big business to rape their workers and their customers.
Why is it right that CEOs and executives should make 100 or more times what their underlings make? It's not right and some one, more like 95% of americans need to rise up and say NO.
A free market is all well and good, but when a company needs to fire some folks because their profits are down, but their CEOs paychecks keep going up, it's wrong!
Success should not be measured by how much money you make. I know, I'm naive.

How is he punishing people for success? just by charging them more.. The richer people can afford to pay some extra money on tax, and if they don't want to pay the money then they are just being selfish. Think about it

Obama is misleading people. He says he's going to lower taxes for 95% of Americans... 45% don't earn enough to pay federal income tax. He thinks it's better to punish successful people for success by taxing them more-- how is that going to help working class people like me when these companies cut back jobs and raise prices to make up for their additional tax burdens? Economic experts in the Wall Street Journal (published the same day as the last debate) said Obama's plan will cost more than it will bring in. The last president to raise taxes and spending during an economic downturn was Carter, which led to a major recession, and before him it was Hoover, which led to the Great Depression. If Obama wins... that will be the result. Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

Just wanted to point out that right after he said $50,000 in response to the question he said that they were gonna put a spin on that, you can youtube it if you want. I 'm sure that it was a joke, but I might have to go over it again.

I don't have any problems with a woman in the WH, but when I listened to Clinton, I always felt like I was being yelled at or scolded. I also didn't like the Clinton machine's tactics. She may have been a woman, but she had a very powerful man behind her.

Yes, it's biased, but our government is biased toward those who are, would like to be, or think they are wealthy, so is our media. McCain said recently when asked what "rich" is that "rich" is making 5 million $$$. So, is 3 mill middle class? I don't think so. You can like the old guy with white hair, but that's just more of the same. I'm VOTING FOR some one WHO WILL pay attention to those of us who make up the majority of the population in the U.S.
