Who was Your 80's Lesbian Crush?

Rachelle Lynn Williams
Way back when I was a teenager growing up in the 1980's I knew that I was a lesbian. No one else knew it because I played the straight game very well. It was relatively easy for me to disguise my secret girl/woman crushes as overall obsession of entire television shows or movies. Confused? Here is what I mean:

I was a rabid fan of the TV show "Hart to Hart". My parents thought that it was because I simply loved the show...the real truth was that I thought that Jennifer Hart (Stephanie Powers) was super sexy - she still is. Robert Wagner, Lionel Stander, and Max the Dog were just tag alongs as far as I was concerned.

"Cagney & Lacey" was my second favorite TV show of all time because I would have given anything to be arrested and booked by Christine Cagney (Sharon Gless) - has anyone seen her lately on "Nip/Tuck"? What a psycho!

I watched "Family" because I thought that Buddy Lawrence (Kristy McNichol) was the cutest tomboy I had ever seen. Ditto for any and everything that featured Jodie Foster, btw Jodie is the hottest woman to ever walk the face of the Earth! Just thought I'd add that.

The main reason I ever watched "The Cosby Show" was because I thought that Denise Huxtable (Lisa Bonet) was totally hot, so was Clare Huxtable (Phylicia Rashad).

Although I did really love the series "Designing Women", I mainly watched it because I thought the entire cast was stunningly gorgeous (Dixie Carter, Delta Burke, Annie Potts, and Jean Smart)- with the exception of Anthony Bouvier, Bernice Clifton, and Allison Sugarbaker.

I never really liked "The Days of Our Lives" and I watched it only when I knew that Hope (Kristen Alfonso) was going to be on.

I was first introduced to Lucy Maud Montgomery's "Anne of Green Gables" series because I couldn't wait to see Megan Follows in anything. It actually turned out that Ms. Montgomery's literature was pretty good too. Who'd have thought it?

I thought that "Too Close for Comfort" was really silly, but I watched anyway to catch a glimpse of Jackie Rush (Deborah Van Valkenberg). Not the blonde one that everyone else obsessed over, but the brunette with the beautiful eyes.

I also used to have a huge crush on Pam Grier. I can't remember anyone else at this point. But, taking that short walk down memory lane definitely put a brief smile on my face! Peace.
