Who Went Home on "Dancing With the Stars" - Season 12, Week 6

Renee Bagley
This week the stars picked it up a notch on "Dancing With The Stars." With them working so hard it makes others stand out like a sore thumb. And they were all good. Mark Ballas was injured with a twisted ankle during performances while Karina Smirnoff slipped to the floor (on Ralph Macchio's long cape). Romeo and Chelsie has a touching moment on the floor and Kirstie gained her stamina. It has been a good week.

New Kids On The Block performed their new single, "Don't Turn Out The Lights" with the Backstreet Boy. I was always a NKOTB fan so personally I was thrilled to see them on stage. They are also promoting their summer tour. KNOTB still consists of the original line up: Donnie Wahlberg, Joey McIntyre, Danny Wood, and Jordan and Jonathan Knight. I was a bit sceptical as to why they need Backstreet Boys, but they did a great job together. Then the entire group came back (mid-way in the show) to sing a medley of their classic songs "Step By Step" and "I Want It That Way." This time New Kids and Backstreet sang their own respective song. Donnie and Joey even popped out on the dance floor with a professional dancer to do some ballroom dancing.

Pia Toscano, who was recently sent home on "American Idol" was there to sing "I'll Stand By You" while Mark danced with Karina. This is why Pia was sent home- the ballads never end for her. At least on "Dancing With The Stars" her sappy ballads fit in.

Macy's Stars of Dance did an amazing job! Their performance was touching and a joy to watch as they performed to "Stand By Me." They featured all ages of talent and it was spectacular.

Those deemed safe tonight: Romeo Miller and Chelsie Hightower, Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas, Hines Ward and Kym Johnson, Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Kendra Wilkinson and Louis van Amstel, and Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff.

That means wrestling superstar Chris Jericho and partner Cheryl Burke were sent home. They had the lowest score when combining judges' scores with fan votes. I hated to see them go, but at the same time I want the 'Karate Kid' to continue on and it had to happen. Jericho was labeled stiff this week by the judges, but he has done really well this season. The competition is just getting harder. Cheryl Burke is one of my favorite dancers of the 'DWTS' professional dancers. But she is still a champion and one of the best teachers on the show. She remains a fan favorite. Jericho was a good sport about it and he admitted it wasn't his best week. He's a really nice guy. Even the host looked sad to see him leave. That's Chris Jericho magic, baby. Everyone loves him.
