Who Will Dominate the World?

J Belkasemi
An article published the Economist issued on November 14th-20th was a surprise to me, as I have discovered that most of opinions about who is going to be the country that will dominate the world might be totally false.

When asked the question: "Which country you think is going to rule the world?", most of the people I know will answer China, India or Russia, some of us still believe that USA will keep its' dominating role. A few think that European Union might crawl into the dominancy field. No one has even mentioned South America as the possible candidate for "Miss Dominance". I was sharing oneof those opinions until I came across the article mentioned above.

The article is called "Brazil takes off". Below are some of the points raised in the article about Brazil that made me change my views.

Point number 1: Brazil like others was hit by the economic downturn but is successfully healing from it and is growing again with an annual rate of 5%.

Point number 2: Brazil has found new deep-sea oil resources and is planning to increase its' oil production in the rear future.

Point number 3: Brazil has a better internal climate then China or India, as it does not have ethnical conflicts and opposed to China is a democracy.

Last but not least Brazil has a vast range of products it exports and is not tied to one commodity like some other countries.

All these facts where backed up by research made by reputable consultancy firms and are starting to be visible from the recent media reports.

Don't know about you my dear readers but to me this new potential "World Dominator" seems like an attractive place to live plus you can't beat the good old Brazilian Carnival.
