Who Will Endorse Ron Paul?

The first time I was introduced to Star Wars, many years ago, I thought it to be a magnificent story. A story worthy enough to inspire the dreams of many a young man. A story of a young farm boy living an ordinary life with no hope of excitement in his future. The young man finds out that the uncle raising him was once a hero and is given the chance to become one himself. What red blooded young man would not find that appealing?

The idea of a "force" that could be tapped into by anyone, a force that would give an individual great power was also appealing. I did not really put much thought into it when I was younger, yet now realize that the "force" is the spiritual force that people of many religions try to tap into. Shamans, mystics, new age types as well as Muslims, Christian and Buddhist all seek to tap into the spirit, force or collective soul as each religion dictates. As a young man I was always interested in spiritual things, but I viewed Star Wars as "just a movie."

George Lucas is one pretty smart fellow. In discussing the intent of the Star Wars story with a friend, we also came to the realization that the politics involved in the movie is also very similar to what is going on right now in our own time. We are currently going through a huge struggle for power with the leaders of our country and the leaders of foreign countries. In the movie the struggle is between two groups. One group is for empire building and the other wishes to maintain autonomy within their individual republics. They meet in a United Nations type setting and practice the fine art of diplomacy and power building.

The leaders in the Democratic Party, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards all teeter on the edge of the maintaining our Republic versus Empire building. When push comes to shove, they probably will not pursue an Empire building strategy, at least not in the sense of physically attacking another country. The problem with the leaders of the Democratic Party is not that they have a global conquest strategy, but that they will destroy our country with kindness. Laugh if you must, but it is true. Free health care for all, nationalize our refineries, public transportation, public this and public that. If if feels good, do it. If you do something that feels good and it hurts you, its not your fault and society will foot the bill for your mistake. Never mind that Democratic leaders get wealthy by virtue of their "service", they push socialism on our country while pursuing pursuing personal capitalist earnings. They are the elite, they know what is best for us.

The leaders in the Republican Party are no better. They openly pursue Empire building. John McCain, Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney are all ready to attack any country that gets in the way of the United States. Not one man is willing to concede the fact that if you upset individuals in a foreign country by building bases on land they consider sacred, they might feel justified in attacking back. I can imagine how I would feel if the Chinese decided to cash in on the t-bill debt the United States has with them, by building a military base in Lima Ohio. I don't think I would have any problem rounding up a few thousand of my neighbors to help start a war with the Chinese. None of these men even have a problem with the fact that the Chinese and Japanese are financing our country to the tune of $600 billion dollars each year. I have not heard one candidate even broach the subject of how we are going to pay that debt back. Will the United States go to war with the Chinese to get out of the debt. Will we sell them California, Ohio or Texas? Our current national debt is in the neighborhood of $7 trillion dollars, owed mostly to Japan and China. How much is one of our states actually worth?

Many can debate how we got into this mess, but what is important is that we figure out a way out of the mess. Giving free health care is not free. Empire building is not free. The life our current political leaders would give us is akin to having sex with a prostitute. It may feel good today, but tomorrow you could experience extreme pain and possible pay for it with your life.

Ron Paul is the only candidate telling the American public that there is pain on the horizon. The United States needs more money, so we print more. Don't worry about having anything to back the money, just keep selling IOU's to every foreign country as they laughingly wait for the foreclosure sale. Let's wage war and give all Americans health care. I am sure the Chinese will be interested in buying more t-bills. Maybe we could get the North American Union going and then sell them Mexico. With our luck they will tell us all to move to Mexico as they start taking our states in exchange for the IOU's that they are holding.

As of this writing Ron Paul has a very loyal base of common ordinary American citizens that are supporting him. Money is coming in and Dr. Paul is fighting the good fight. What is missing is endorsements by leaders in the national community. Oprah supports Obama, Streisand endorse Clinton. Who will endorse Ron Paul. After thinking about it, a logical person to endorse Ron Paul is George Lucas. Although he is 72 years old, Ron Paul is the Luke Skywalker of our time. He does not have to wield a lightsaber, just the truth. I believe that should Ron Paul receive a few endorsements by people that we Americans respect, the tide can turn and fools like Huckabee will no longer be in first place in the Republican primaries. Folks like Jim Cramer and Jay Leno have a good audience and are trusted. Who will stand up and endorse Ron Paul? Who loves their country enough to openly and honestly support the change we need to ensure the survival of our great Republic? Or will we be doomed to go down in history as another failed empire?
