Who Will Win the 2009 CMA Male Vocalist of the Year?

This year's Country Music Awards will be held live from Nashville, Tennessee on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 7:00 pm Central Standard Time.

The nominees for the Male Vocalist of the Year are:

1) Brad Paisley

2) George Strait

3) Kenny Chesney

4) Darius Rucker

5) Keith Urban

Now how do you pick a winner from that lineup? I would hate to be the judge on that one. However, since I decided to toy around with the nominations and make a prediction based on my humble opinion (which will more than likely be totally wrong, but hey I'm giving it a shot!

George Strait keeps delivering hit after hit, year after year. He is a classic country music star that just keeps on going like the energizer bunny. He is just as popular today as when he first hit the country music scene, if not more.

Darius Rucker is the newcomer to this group. However, he could pull off a win here with an upset. His popularity has sky-rocketed in the past year and I find myself loving each new single as it comes out. I don't think he will pull winning this award off this year, but keep your eyes and ears open for his music. He will soon become one of your favorites, I guarantee!

Keith Urban is another nominee that is highly deserving of this award. Keith is always on the road touring and puts out hit after hit. It may just be my opinion, but I think he slowed down a bit this past year and this may cost him the title here.

Kenny Chesney gives his all, day after day, month after month. I think Kenny must think he is a superstar or something! Chesney delivers a great concert and entertainment each and every time he hits the stage. His music is loved by all age groups and he remains a favorite for this award every year.

Brad Paisley is another great country music artist that is always on the road performing concerts. He is another favorite of all ages and his popularity just seems to go up each year. Brad has a wonderful personality ( he is co-hosting the award's show) that everyone loves. Oh, and did I mention that he is a wonderful performer? He has a good heart too-he gave away a truck to the 1 millionth ticket holder at a recent concert.

These guys are all awesome and I love each and every one of them. I'm really not wanting to even try to make a choice in this category but since I took on this little job will have to say Kenny Chesney first comes to mind but.....there is Brad Paisley.

Kenny loves to have a good time and this really shows through in all his performances and concerts. He is a great entertainer and just seems to fit the bill here. However, like the female vocalist of the year prediction I made earlier and for the same reason, I'm going to have to go with Brad Paisley. Brad has paid his dues. He has proven that he can hang with the "big guys" and puts out the hits. Like, Taylor Swift in the female category, I think Brad's time to reign as the Top Male Vocalist of the Year is here.
