Outstanding Drama Series
Boston Legal-ABC
Grey's Anatomy-ABC
Heroes-NBC
House-Fox
The Sopranos-HBO
Who deserves to win: With legal dramas, medical drama and the mafia, Heroes is an exciting change to the conventional nominations.
Why it won't: Legal dramas, medical dramas, and the mafia are loved by almost all viewers. They are going to be hard to beat especially by a bunch of nerdy superheroes.
Who will win: The Sopranos has dominated the Emmy Awards since its debut. The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (ATAS) has always had a soft spot for popular shows in their final season. The Sopranos will win despite the terrible ending.
Lead Actor in a Drama Series
James Gandolfini-The Sopranos
Hugh Laurie-House
Denis Leary-Rescue Me
James Spader-Boston Legal
Kiefer Sutherland-24
Who deserves to win: James Gandolfini without a doubt. Gandolfini was able to make a despicable man likeable. That's extremely hard to do. How often do you find yourself rooting for a murderous adulterer?
Who will win: James Gandolfini
Lead Actress in a Drama Series
Patricia Arquette-Medium
Minnie Driver-The Riches
Edie Falco- The Sopranos
Sally Field- Brothers and Sisters
Mariska Hargitay-Law & Order:SVU

Who deserves to win: Sally Field is excellent in Brothers and Sisters.
Who will win: Kyra Sedgwick. ATAS love a mouthy southern broad.
Supporting Actor in a Drama Series
Michael Emerson-Lost
Michael Imperioli-The Sopranos
T.R. Knight-Grey's Anatomy
Terry O'Quinn-Lost
Masi Oka-Heroes
William Shatner-Boston Legal
Who deserves to win: Michael Emerson portrayal of Ben from the series Lost is unbelievable. He is able to display complete emotional control while giving an amazing emotionally charged performance.
Who will win: Masi Oka quirky performance of the loveable Hiro makes him another shoo in.
Supporting Actress in a Drama Series
Lorraine Bracco-The Sopranos
Rachel Griffiths-Brothers and Sisters
Katherine Heigl-Grey's Anatomy
Sandra Oh-Grey's Anatomy
Aida Turturro-The Sopranos
Chandra Wilson-Grey's Anatomy
Who deserves to win: To be honest none of these women out shine any of the others.
Who will win: My bet is someone from Grey's Anatomy
Outstanding Comedy Series
Entourage-HBO
The Office-NBC
30 Rock-NBC
Two and a Half Men-CBS
Ugly Betty-ABC
Who deserves to win: I'd like to say The Office because its my favorite show but 30 Rock deserves the win. It's funny and witty and always hits its mark.
Who will win: Ugly Betty because if there is one thing the ATAS loves more than a tough talking southern broad is an adorable underdog.
Lead Actor in a Comedy Series
Alec Baldwin-30 Rock
Steve Carell-The Office
Ricky Gervais-Extras
Tony Shalhoub-Monk
Charlie Sheen-Two and a Half Men
Who deserves to win: Alec Baldwin is spot on as an egotistical, overbearing boss. His comedic timing is impeccable and his deadpan expressions are hilarious.
Who will win: Alec Baldwin
Lead Actress in a Comedy Series
America Ferrera-Ugly Betty
Tina Fey-30 Rock
Felicity Huffman-Desperate Housewives
Julia Louis-Dreyfus- The New Adventures of Old Christine
Mary-Louise Parker
Who deserves to win: Tina Fey from 30 Rock. Her performance is so convincing that it might not actually be acting.
Who will win: America Ferrera because once again ATAS loves an underdog.
Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series
Jon Cryer-Two and a Half Men
Kevin Dillon-Entourage
Neil Patrick Harris-How I met your mother
Rain Wilson-The Office
Who deserves to win: Rain Wilson is a shoo in in this category. He makes the dorky Dwight loveable and entertaining.
Who will win: Rain Wilson is unbeatable in this category.
Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series
Conchata Ferrell-Two and a Half Men
Jenna Fischer-The Office
Elizabeth Perkins-Weeds
Jamie Pressly-My name is Earl
Holland Taylor-Two and a Half Men
Vanessa Williams-Ugly Betty
Who deserves to win: Jenna Fisher's portrayal of dowdy Pam has left all wondering will she or won't she with Jim.
Who will win: Vanessa Williams who is a live action version of a Disney evil stepmother.

Great article. I didn't see the Award Show but I'm glad Gandolfini didn't win. Uh.. Don't tell him I said this.

Good predictions. Anything can happen of course, but you back your guesses up well.
