Who Will Win American Idol 2008?
Now that Kristy Lee Cook has been cut from American Idol, there are only six contestants left: Brooke White, Carly Smithson, Syesha Mercado, David Cook, David Archuleta and Jason Castro. Of those remaining contestants, the guys are still leading strongly. Jason Castro will probably be the next male to be voted off the show. David Cook and David Archuleta may be running neck and neck for a while unless Syesha, Carly, or Brooke are able to stir more fans up.
Recap of the past week and a half on American Idol:
Surprise and disappointment rang through many households across the nation when Michael Johns was voted off this season's Idol. Michael Johns was preferred by many people over the remaining contestants, but it wasn't enough to save him from rejection. That he was voted off during American Idol Gives Back week made the blow all the more painful for fans.
Kristy Lee Cook's dismissal did not warrant the same shock or disappointment . Mariah Carey liked her, but most voters apparently did not. The ladies in general have just not faired well this season. This doesn't mean they are not talented-- all the remaining contestants are talented singers. But stage presence, hair style, and speaking voice, influence votes significantly.
Will the next American Idol be the young, cheery and talented David Archuleta? David Archuleta is the contestant I believe may very well be this year's top Idol pick. This does not mean he is my favorite (I'm undecided), it means only that I think he will get the most votes. I base this prediction on his continued popularity among Idol fans, though I believe it will be a toss-up between Archuleta and the other, older and scruffier David, David Cook.
Whoever ends up being the final contestant has a lot look forward to. Past American Idol winners, such as Fantasia, Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson, have become household names. Fantasia went on to receive multiple Grammy nominations. Carrie Underwood has won several Grammy awards and Kelly Clarkson has also won a Grammy. Will this season's winner go on to match that fame? There's a lot of talent among the final contestants and I'm sure we'll be hearing about them for a long time.

While I thought that your article was certainly concise, it was also rather brief. In the case of American Idol articles, though, perhaps 'brief' is better than overly long. I don't really watch AI anymore, but from the little I've seen, I'm guessing it won't be David A. because of the problems his father Jeff has caused for the production company.
It's really not much of a contest this year; the Davids were always going to be the 2 finalists and Archuleta should win.

david archuleta. he has an incredible voice and the whole package. good stage presence, good voice and adorable as well as a large fanbase. In my opinion he should definitely win it all.
I have been covering American Idol here at AC, so if you all would like, you may check out my articles. As for who I think will win American Idol. Without a doubt, David Archuleta. He has an amazing voice, and a huge fan-base. The younger people are going to vote for him as well as the older ladies. I just think he has the potential to be a very good live-star, but we shall see. It certainly should be a great finale! Great article by the way. =)
If fans will choose a great singer with a lot of potential, I think that David Archuleta will win. He has an amazing voice and over time, he will only improve; remember, he is only 17 years old and is ready for stardom already. He will only get better.
i think that david cook might win american idol because his a total package except for that huge forehead, though i prefer david archuleta...his been wanting this since the start of american idol...i think he will still improve where as cook is already too old to improve...and cook reminds me of a lamer version of chris daughtry, i just can't stop comparing cook to other rock singers...he's voice is just too soft for a rocker, so i was never impress even at the start of season 8...
