Who Will Win Kentucky Derby 2010?

Top Three Finishers and More

Robin Vinci
It's been hard for favorites to win the Kentucky Derby lately. It could be do to so many horses in the race.

This year will be another difficult one especially with rain in the forecast. As I have said I have won many a trifecta in the Kentucky Derby.

I am releasing my top three pics although I recommend you read the following before betting. Read this story before reading on http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1625975/pick_a_winner_in_this_years_kentucky.html?cat=14

My first pick is Sidney's Candy ridden by Joe Talamo at 6-1. Why? The horse is terrific and won the Santa Anita Derby easily. It is a frontrunner and a bit of rain will not hurt. The bad news is it has the number 20 post position. That could be a factor in the rain. Still I can't help but want this horse in my trifecta. I think it is by far the best horse in the race and would win easily on a clear day on a fast track. I predict a second place finish in the Kentucky Derby, due to the post position and possible track condition from that spot, and a first place finish in the Belmont. (of course, after the race I may change my mind about the Belmont)

Horse number two in my trifecta is Backtalk ridden my Miguel Mena at 150-1. I have watched this horse and think it is improving. At 50-1, if it gets in the mix, it is worth a fortune. Unfortunately, it has the number 18 post position. This horse could finish third and is worth putting $2 on to win as well as boxing in a trifecta. Some long shot always does well. Why not Backtalk?

My third pick is Super Saver at 15-1. Super Saver stays near the front of the pack and has a great post position at number 4. Post position is one of the most important things in any horse race. It also has the best Kentucky Derby rider in Calvin Borel, another vital thing in a big race, in my opinion. I am predicting Super Saver wins the Kentucky Derby.

You need to study to find your top three to win the race.

A few other horses to look at include Conveyance at 12-1. He is a frontrunner and trained by Bob Baffert. He is ridden by Martin Garcia and has post position 12.

Ice Box is 10-1 and has a nice post position at the number 2 spot. He is ridden by jockey Jose Lezcano.

Lookin at Lucky is the favorite at 3-1 and has post number 1. His jockey is Garrett Gomez.

There is also one filly in Devil May Care at 10-1 who has post position 11 and will be ridden by John Velasquez.

There are lots of other horses as well.

Post positions are:

1 Lookin at Lucky 3-1

2 Ice Box 10-1

3 Noble's Promise 12-1

4 Super Saver 15-1

5 Line of David 30-1

6 Stately Victory 30-1

7 American Lion 30-1

8 Dean's Kitten 50-1

9 Make Music for Me 50-1

10 Paddy O'Prado 20-1

11 Devil May Care 10-1

12 Conveyance 12-1

13 Jackson Bend 15-1

14 Mission Impazible 20-1

15 Discreetly Mine 30-1

16 Awesome Act 10-1

17 Dublin 12-1

18 Backtalk 50-1

19 Homeboykris 50-1

20 Sidney's Candy 5-1

So go do some studying of your own and meet me in the winner's circle.

Hi Robin, I love all your articles. I became a fan last Derby day - after ready what everyone else had to say I went with Super Saver because of you. Everyone was amazed with my horse sense.

What are your predictions for this year. Please make me a sensible woman again.
