Who Will Win? Who Will Be Eliminated? the Biggest Loser: Couples Season Finale Tonight, 8 P.m. Eastern
Where we left off last week, there were four possible contenders: Ali, Roger, Kelly, and Mark. Out of the remaining contestants, Ali had the highest percentage of weight loss, but all four had tremendous success in their weight loss and fitness efforts.
We also left off last week's episode not knowing who would be eliminated before the finale. That choice was left up to America to decide. Based on their weight loss, and by the results of the poll on The Biggest Loser: Couples website, my guess would be Mark will be the one who is eliminated. He had the lowest percentage of votes choosing him to be the winner this season.
But who will be the winner? Since the contestants all had to return home to see how they fare in a "real world" situation, the challenge is significant. If I had to guess, I think this will be the first season of The Biggest Loser that will have a female contestant win the grand prize, and I think that contestant will be Ali. Since being brought back to the ranch, she has kept her weight loss consistent and had considerable determination. She also currently has the highest percentage of weight loss of all the remaining contestants.
But, if it's not Ali, who could it be? Assuming that he doesn't get eliminated this week, Mark stands a good chance of being the winner. He's got his brother (Jay, eliminated two weeks ago) to go home to, so there's a tremendous support system.
If Mark is eliminated, it's not quite as obvious whom the winner will be. Both Roger and Kelly have been done so well, but I think when it comes down to numbers, it will be Roger. He's got three things going for him that Kelly doesn't; for one, he's got more weight to lose, which means, generally speaking, he'll be able to lose weight faster than Kelly. He's also got the gender-factor on his side - men typically lose weight faster than women. He's also got Trent waiting for him at home - Trent was eliminated earlier in the season, but had also lost a substantial amount of weight, continuing after he returned home.
That's not to say that Kelly doesn't stand a chance; quite the opposite. She has worked so hard and transformed both her body and mind as a result of this competition. I think her biggest obstacle will be the lack of support once she goes back home. Her ex-husband, Paul, who was eliminated a few months ago, didn't demonstrate nearly the amount of commitment to the program that Kelly had, and without having the kind of support that Mark and Roger have, she may be more likely to fall back into old habits.
Tune in tonight at 8 p.m. (eastern time) to find out who this season's winner will be!
