Why did some people go home while other are still there?
The contestants or Idolites as I like to call them, seem to be as talented this year as the ones in past years. I do believe that some people went home pre-maturely though.
I was in love with Haeley Vaughn. I think America let her go because we could not imagine a Black Country Singer, isn't that a oxy-moron or something? She did have talent, but it was obvious that she would not win early on.
I do believe that Todrick was let go a little early as well. This guys was a singer. I loved his original style. He was unique and very entertaining. After a little research I might have found out why he was let go, maybe his reputation was not what the Idol executives wanted.
Apparently he was caught up in a scam about a play that he had written. This is a story that I read at http://television.gearlive.com/tvenvy/article/q107-american-idol-9-did-todrick-hall-scam-a-bunch-of-kids. The musical was called Oz, and it was supposed to hire a lot of children to play in the musical. The parents of these children paid for ticket and some paid for costumes, and the show was canceled. Many parents are claiming no refunds, poor Todrick Hall, don't you know Idol doesn't want that kind of publicity.
Surprised They Lasted So Long
DiDi Benami lasted much long than she should have. I knew after her March 3rd attempt on "Lean On Me," she would not make it much farther. To me that was a poor attempt at singing and performing. Poor girl, I wish her well, but I am so happy that she is gone.
I dare not leave you in any more suspense, how in the world is Tim Urban still on Idol? Simply put, he can sell tickets. There are about 10 other people that have more talent than Tim.
Did I say 10, no I meant 15 counting the judges and probably some of the audience. This guy is just blessed. Have you ever had a friend where in every situation they always had it work out in their favor. That guy is Tim. I mean really, Who gets sent home, comes back, performs horribly, and still ends up moving on week after week.
Tim I wish I knew you, God has his hands directly on your life my friend. Things just don't fall into my lap like that. I really hope he has a good performance this week, because his shelf life is just about expired. However, if he performs good this week and next, you just might be watching your next American Idol.
