Who'd Vote for Me? What I'd do if I was President

Earl Pyle
I apologize for the how long this is, just touching on some subjects to need to be addressed:

I would like to find a group (s) that would like to financially back me to run for president.

The following will be subjects that I will comment on:

1) Terrorist and Illegal Immigrants;

The current powers in charge has gotten off to a good start with the Mexican border and the bill that they have passed, but it could be better.

A) The ideal of 700 miles of double fence is a start, which is going to cost the taxpayers alot of money, it would be outrageous to do the whole border in that manner.

B) We could go about digging a double trench, using the dirt removed from them to build hills on either side.

C) Instead of spending BILLIONS on un-manned aircrafts, ones that the Boeing company will make an insane profit on, we could use the money elsewhere.

D) We could bring back and train what was called Minutemen, citizen trained and sworn in as border patrol.

E) We could set up small out building every mile or so for them to be based at with roaming patrols. Have these minutemen armed with non- lethal weapons. Have the National Guard in the roaming units armed with lethal means of control.

F) It would take years of paying for this protection in place of the BILLIONS up front to get the aircrafts in the air.

2) On the issue of Terrorism;

A) I propose that we dedicate six (6) airports, Three (3) on the East coast and three (3) on the West coast that all planes coming into the country must land at.

B) If any planes fail to follow this procedure, scramble fighter jets out to intercept it, ex courting it back to the proper landing area.

C) Once at the airports, all passengers, (except U.S. born citizen) would have to pass thru a facial scan software area, provide proof of point of origin, and destination.

D) Anyone that can't provide the required information or acts suspect would be detained for further security checks.

E) After passing the security checks, they would be allowed to board other planes to their destinations.

F) If the person fails the checks, they would be put into an on-site detention center until they could be returned their point of origin.

3) Minimum Wage and Taxes:

A) Would request minimum wage be raised to $7.50 an hour, with other wages raised the equal rate.

B) Set tax rates as follows;
Families earning less than $50,000 would pay a max tax of 5%.
Families earning between $50,000 and $100, 000 would have tax of 15%.
Families earning between $100,000 and $150,000 would have a tax of 25%.
Families earning over $150,000 would have a tax of 35%.

C) Small mom and pops business would pay a max of 35% in taxes, where as larger, multi- million dollar business would pay 30- 35% in taxes.

D) Single parents would receive a child tax credit of $2500 instead of the current $500 per child, which pays nothing.

4) Military:

A) Now that Iraq has it's own government and military, I'd request that our troops be pulled out and that we would watch from afar.

B) Any country that we're in a civil war of their our countrymen, our troops would be stationed outside of their country, in a supervisory position and would not take part in the actual fighting.

C) I'd deploy our troops in our country, including borders, airports, shipyards, and any other place of entry to our country. Making their tour of duty as 4 weeks on/ 2 weeks off.

5) Financial Aid Overseas and In Our Country:

A) Stop spending TRILLIONS of dollars helping those overseas, many of which look down on the U.S. and supports terrorism. Help out only when needed for natural disasters such as earthquakes, mud slides, flooding, etc. And than only match what is given by other countries.

B) I'd open homeless shelters, food pantries, and soup kitchens to help those displaced from companies going overseas ( more on this later ), and make them available 24 hours a day, not just from 8 PM to 7 AM.

C) I'd set up training centers to educate people for placement in the work force.

D) I'd expand our drug task force units, since drugs plays a major roll with Americans ending up homeless.

6) NAFTA;

I believe this is one subject that has had alot to do with the downfall of the American work force. I would work to repel the treaty. If companies didn't want to return to the states;

A) Set up a committee to oversee what it cost companies to produce a product, including lobar. Say it cost $6000 to make an automobile, they would be allowed to sell it for it $12,000, but would have to pay a $3000 import fee, out of pocket.
B) If the company moves its operations back into the U.S., where it would help out in the U.S. job market, they would receive help from the government to go about reopening plants, rather it be tax breaks of low interest loans.

C) Any off- shore company that is interested in buying an American company would have to go through a ridged background check, they would be required to hire a minimum of 60% American workers, and provide a comprehensive health care package. They would also be required to keep and spend a minimum of 75% of the company profit in the U.S.

8) OPEC;

This one hasn't made sense in a long time. Here we sit, buying oil from countries that not only harbor terrorist, but helps fund them. This is the same terrorists that has, and will again, attack our country.

A) I propose that we pay American oil well owners a higher percentage of what we pay the foreign countries now. They would be more willing to restart their pumping equipment if they could make a living, unlike they can now.

B) The automotive companies have been working on experimenting with vehicles that get outrageous fuel mileage, from Chrysler during the 60's to G.M. in the 80's. And for some reason, be it OPEC or our own country paying them off, have stopped R&D on them.

C) I'd give the auto manufacturing companies tax credits, low interest loans to continue R&D and to bring to market this type of vehicles.

D) I'd give private individuals tax credits for either buying, or converting their current vehicles to run on electric, propane, or the current E85.

E) I'd propose continue R&D for hydrogen powered vehicles, electric plants and anything else that runs without oil based fuels.

9) Farming:

We have millions of acres that the current government pays to leave unused, while all along ship in supplies from all around the world, driving our farmers out of business, fighting to pay bills, put food on their tables and clothes on their families back.

A) We need to stop paying countries that support terrorism and put our people back to work using land that has been in their families for generations. Paying them what it cost to import the products in.

B) If the don't have the financial means to restart growing fields, keeping their animals in good health, we'd provide low interest loans and grants to help them back on their feet.

7) The U.N.

I'd propose that we would match the funds and military support equal to that of other countries. Our country would not supply BILLIONS of dollars while only sent a couple hundred thousand of dollars. We would not in thousands of our troops while other countries only sent in a couple of battalions of their troops. We would not fund the majority of whatever was needed.
When we needed help following 9/11 or after our 2005 hurricane season, who came to our aid?

10) No Child left behind bill;

This is a good idea in theory, but what good does it do when when our schools advance our children when they haven't learned what was taught during the school year?
I've seen alot of High School kids working at fast food places that have trouble giving simple change back without a machine telling what to do.
Have you ever given a cashier a penny to get even change back and they have to have someone help figure it out?
How many people has seen students writing that makes doctors writing look good?

A) I see nothing wrong with keeping a student in a grade if they don't do a good job the first though, maybe they need a-little extra help from the teacher. Don't send them to the next grade if they didn't understand what was taught in the prior grade, do what is necessary so they do understand it.

B) We as parents and teachers need to teach the children better, rather it be more and better training for the teachers, turning off all distractions at home and spending more time with our kids.

C) The states with lotteries would have to give more than they are now, wasn't that the promise that was made when they formed the lotteries? In Ohio, the schools only receive 4.7% of what's brought in. They need to move the decimal point over one place to the right.

With all the money the country would save by not supporting other countries, every child in the U.S. could have a great education.

We'd intervene with people such as Bill Gates who wants to send Billions of dollars overseas to help. If people like him wants to help people, make it Americans who has broken their backs building this country to the point they have the Billions to give away.

Help the children with an education that can continue to help this country grow, to be the great nation it once was.

We as a society have gotten soft and lazy. We need to look back to our parents, grand-parents, and even further back to how they lived. They took pride in everything they did, from their families to how they worked.

We have gotten to where people do whatever they want, good or bad, without any recourse for their actions. Where kids and adults kill one other, steal whatever they want, and not worry about their punishment, as most of the times they get a slap on the wrist and released back into the public to do it again.

The ones we do put in prisons live better than some of the public. The ones sentenced to death row sits there 10, 20 years or more with us footing the bill. If your found guilty of a crime, you take a punishment fitting the crime, if it lands you on death you get a appeal within six (6) months and if your convicted a second time, within eighteen (18) months it carried out.

This has been a general outline for my ideas. I have no political experience, but have run a business. Having no political ties means several things.

1) I'm out to serve the people of this country. And 2) No corporations has their hands in my pocket.

I'm just a regular Joe that's tired of struggling to make ends meet, always coming up short, and I'm tired of all the career politicians making promises and than changing the second they get in office. I don't believe you should be able to spend 40 years in Congress or the Senate.

IT'S TIME THE AMERICAN PEOPLE TOOK CONTROL OF THE COUNTRY AND MADE IT LIKE IT ONCE WAS.

If you know of anyone that would be interested in backing me, please have them contact me at run_for_president_2008@yahoo.com
