Whole Foods Veggie Pizza Review

The Pen
I'd never had pizza from Whole Foods until today. When I passed by the pizza counter I noticed the veggie pizza slices. The pizza looked so tasty that I had to try it, so I bought two slices.

Taste of
A Slice of Whole Foods Veggie Pizza

This pizza had me at hello. The first thing I noticed was how fresh the ingredients were so every flavor of the veggie slice tasted strong and potent.

The sauce on this pizza isn't very runny, it's on the stiffer side like a paste, but it tastes awesome because it's strongly seasoned with the oregano, basil and garlic. I thought it went well with the cheese which has a slightly pungent, funky flavor.

The crust is quite different from most of the pizzas I've had. It's thin, yet it's quite filling, and it has a bit of a dry and earthy taste to it, especially when I got to the edges of it. But I thought it complemented the other ingredients on the slice, and it tasted better than a lot of the bland white flour pizza crusts found on most pizzas.

I usually don't even like a ton of bell peppers on my pizza. But these were roasted and cut into thin strips and they were really tasty on this slice. The green and red peppers tasted sweet, while the yellow peppers had a tangy flavor. Although I couldn't really taste the mushrooms, I enjoyed the meaty texture it provided.

In the End...

The veggie slice was so good... it was filled with earthy, roasty, sweet, tangy and sour flavors. And one slice filled me up for hours. I will definitely be going back to Whole Foods whenever I have a craving for veggie pizza and just to try the other flavors they sell. I give the veggie slice 4 out of 5 stars.
