Whoopi Goldberg Says Sarah Palin is a Dangerous Woman

Whoopi Goldberg Too Over the Top?

Tina Molly Lang
In a recent blog post, Whoopi Goldberg called Sarah Palin a dangerous woman. While Whoopi Goldberg praised Sarah Palin for being a "tough chick, a babe, and a mom," she also pointed out what she saw as meanness and inaccuracies in Sarah Palin's speech.

First, Whoppi Goldberg claims Sarah Palin undermined Barack Obama's work as a community organizer. Whoopi Goldberg argues that Obama's work allows him to understand how people live, what happens when they lose everything, and what they can do about it. Whoopi Goldberg discredits Sarah Palin's record, arguing that she had no foreign policy experience and that she had supported the Bridge to Nowhere in 2006. Whoopi Goldberg finds Sarah Palin's America First agenda disingenuous and also believes that Sarah Palin was part of an Alaska secession movement.

Then there is the issue of Sarah Palin's daughter. Whoopi Goldberg pointed out a double standard. She argues that when a black teenager becomes pregnant, she is treated as a "welfare mom." Yet when a "nice white lady's" daughter gets pregnant, it becomes an Evangelical Christian choice.

Finally, Whoopi Goldberg decries Sarah Palin's religious views and socially conservative positions. "This is a lady who believes that everything that happens is God ordained." Whoopi Goldberg goes on to discuss taxes, the war, and oil drilling. "This girl is dangerous to me. This is a very dangerous woman, because I believe for her intents and purposes, she's OK if everybody lives a certain way, that is to say, the way God ordained men and women to be."

Whoopi Goldberg Says Sarah Palin is a Dangerous Woman: My Thoughts

Although Sarah Palin is more politically conservative than the moderate John McCain, Whoopi Goldberg is over the top in her criticisms of Sarah Palin. On Barack Obama's work as community organizer, Sarah Palin was correct to point out the holes in his resume. While I agree that community organizing is noble work, it does not take the place of hands on executive experience as mayor and governor. Traditionally, governors have tended to fare better than senators in national elections. It has been said that "governors run things while senators run their mouths." While I agree that Sarah Palin lacks foreign policy experience, McCain's record balances the ticket in that respect.

On Sarah Palin's daughter, I see some truth in the double standard that Whoopi Goldberg spoke of. Still, I believe that the daughter's pregnancy is a family affair. I respect the choice that Sarah Palin and the daughter made to carry the baby to full term. Sarah Palin is pro-life and practices what she preaches.

Whether or not you agree with Sarah Palin's political views, it is extreme for Whoopi Goldberg to call her dangerous. Whoopi Goldberg claims that Palin has "contempt for anyone who doesn't believe as she does." It's an unfair generalization to make. Maybe Sarah Palin sees tax cuts and oil drilling as being in our economic and national interests. Maybe her position on abortion is not anti-woman, but pro-life. Many of Whoopi Goldberg's criticisms could be used to describe a number of Republicans including Mitt Romney or Mike Huckabee, the same arguments that some Democrats have been making for years. It doesn't make sense to single out Sarah Palin as the "dangerous" one.

Whoopie and her ilk are so afraid of what Sara is saying they just can't stand it! Sara is obviously a woman with strong beliefs and the passion to express those beliefs. She has something that is lacking in most leftists - common sense. It is intertaining to see the level of hate that the leftists have towards Sara-just because she appears to be (and is) one of us. The disregarded, the dis respected MAJORITY of pepole in the USA. The level of vitrol exposes the level of anxiety these people have with someone with American Values-Sara Palin. Go for it Sara!

I like Sarah Palin as a human being as well and think her personality mixes in the population giving it balance.

But as a President the office would be out of balance and she would support war to the point of getting the US in hot water. In that since she is very dangerous, but only in that since as in all other issues she is showing how messed up politics is and that the Republicans are desperate for leadership above the table top and our only power now is doing business (just the way it is) under the table out of site. Not good for the Country. We need a real Republican candidate not a puppet showing the true structure of politics. The show is important.

I actually like Sarah Palin as a human being, but she's intelligent, yet profoundly lacking in certain areas of knowledge, values the 2nd Amendment but not the 1st, and is very manipulative, therefore, she's dangerous. I believe her assertion that she's practiced much in the way of tolerance in her personal life, but the idea of her with her finger on the nuclear button scares me.

My person belief is that Sarah Palin is a Legend In Her Own Mind and this is very dangerous for our Country. Why wouldn't her own husband testify to try and clear her name if she wasn't guilty?????????????

Palin is no more intelligent than the average high school debater. If you don't know what you're talking about, at least look like you do, right? You'll score points amongst those who aren't able to engage in any significant critical thinking.

Joe Biden told a television audience in Scranton he was "very Catholic" and fully believed what "Bishop Eagan" had said about abortion--that it was unacceptable to the Church. But I guess his beliefs depend on where the audience is--just like Obama's gun control position.
