In today's society a lot of so called Christians want to make exceptions to the fact that "whosoever" accepts Jesus as their Lord and Savior can be saved. Most of today's Americanized Church has the attitude of "Whosoever but",
Whosoever but the thief, whosoever but the rapist, whosoever but the murderer, whosoever but the child molester, whosoever but the homosexual, whosoever but the lesbian, whosoever but may be saved. Problem is that doctrine is not only so anti-scriptural that I think it comes from satan, it is also selfish. It's an attitude of I'll do to him what he did to me.
Of course these people need to repent, of course they need to accept the consequences of their actions, no one denies that. But if they have served their time given to them by the courts and been legally let out of jail or prison or wherever they have been, then as Christians we'd better hope they follow Jesus, Jesus can set them free from the bonds of satan.
If these people stay under satan's yoke then they are more likely to repeat their crimes. If you won't allow people to repent and you use these selfish excuses that nobody, including Jesus, can change them, then you are being selfish. You are no more righteous than they are. If you think you are then you should realize that Jesus told the parable in Luke 18:10-14 about you, not them.
Jesus said the well do not need a physician. If you are not sick, you do not need to be healed. If you have a Saviour and He's the right one, you don't need another one. The righteous do not need to repent, Jesus came to call sinners, not the righteous to repentance.
The message of scripture so clearly found in scripture is whosoever will, not whosoever but. It is irrelevant whether or not a person "deserves" another chance. If we got what we deserved, we would all go to hell and that includes you and me. Jesus offered His grace to whosoever accepts him as personal Lord and Saviour. We should, as he did, offer God's grace to whosoever will.
