Paradoxically, despite the efforts to achieve this goal, AIDS is spreading like'harmattan fire' in the society. Where then lies the problem. One thing is certain, which is the fact that there is no sincerity in the efforts to eradicate / control AIDS in the society. Today, production of nude films is now a lucrative business. Many of these nude films now abound on the streets, markets and are shown on television stations, cinema houses. The most unfortunate aspect of it is that many of the policy makers in the society are customers to these cinema houses and these films sellers. There is no doubt that many of the youths learnt immoral sexual activities through these films.
Aside this, hotels are springing up daily in cities around the world, which go a long way in promoting adulteries and fornications. Many prostitutes in the society use some of these hotels as workshop.
In higher institutions of learning, particularly in some African countries, cultism is prevalent. During their initiation ceremonies, marks are made on the body of new member (s) using unsterilised equipment while blood are leaked by other cult members, thus going a long way in promoting AIDS. Records indicate that there are over thirty secret cult groups in African countries talk less of other continents of the world.
There is no gainsaying that there is revolution in the information and communication technology (ICT). Many websites are springing up daily. Many of these websites are avenues for viewing pornographic films by the youths in the society thus encouraging prostitution and immoral sexual orgy.
Prostitution is fast becoming a lucrative business in the society. Many child traffickers are celebrated in the society today for their questionable wealth. Many female youths are now exported daily to foreign countries to produce nude films, promote prostitution business and thus make money. With all these, where then lies the sincerity in the efforts to eradicate AIDS in our society.
