Why All the Fuss Over President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize

Four's the Charm

Mr. Chip's
Earth to Rush...Earth to Rush...you can get off your soap-box at any time. But I am not just scolding you. You have your buddies. Your "Posse" wouldn't you call them that. Maybe your Oxycoton buddies. But maybe that's painting with too broad of a brush. I do know that in fact many people listen to you Rush for of all things their news and information. Well I'm giving your newscast a great big "F" for failure to report the truth and for "flimsy" your reasons why you think it's such a big joke that our President was given the Nobel Peace Prize and not you or Colin Powell. I use Mr. Powell because for a time he was "all the rage" as a possible candidate for the Peace Prize. Privately I had my reservations. I was even suspect when he looked for some position in the Obama whitehouse. Anything from Bush Jr. is trickled down from Bush Sr. (the former CIA Director and oil man). Do I trust them ...is the moon made of cheese?

I am glad that President Obama won the peace prize. Because it reflects on we the citizens that put this great man in office. Which was a miracle. Recall the fiasco of how former Vice President Albert Gore lost to Bush Jr. The hanging "chads" the lost ballots, his brother Jeb the Governor at the time. That election was stolen from Al Gore and from the American people. Prayerfully it did not happen to President Barack Hussein Obama. He is the fourth American President to have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Youthful like JFK, charismatic like Bill Clinton and having a great sense of duty for peace and humanity for his fellow man and woman kind like former President Jimmy Carter. And showing my children's generation that anyone can become President of the United States of America be they man or woman or boy or girl. To those who would oppose our Commander and Chief based on preposterous notions such as is our President a socialist, a communist, a natural born citizen the can is chock full of nuts. Fortunately their are really more good people in the can versus the nuts. Lastly I almost forgot to explain to the naysayers also read this as the Rush Limbaugh crowd the reason why I think the Nobel committee awarded this to our president. Going back in history to the three former Presidents who were awarded the peace prize. Theodore Roosevelt,Woodrow Wilson and Jimmy Carter. I see them awarding it to President Obama for the things he has done throughout the world and at the same time trying to his best at home as in his recent visit to Louisiana in remembrance of the tragedy of hurricane Katrina. And he was instrumental in finally getting US forcesand its allies out of Iraq and able restore control back to the Iraqi Government and the Iraqi people and he continues to work on the difficult and deadly situation in Afghanistan. So don't fault him too hard if he's not working fast enough for you Rush!!! You must still be on your medication because you seem to forget he is having to clean-up the mess that Bush Jr., (inclusive of Karl Rove,Donald Rumsfeld,Dick Cheney, Rice, Powell ...) and his administration left and at the same time President Obama and Joe Biden have new fires so to speak that they must put out. Which makes their job even harder. So Limbaugh put a sock in it. In my book he is doing a good job. And I wouldn't want to pat myself on the back if it was me that caused the President to fail. Didn't you say at one time you wanted the President of the United States to fail ? You still want that on your conscience Mr. Limbaugh?

I was born in 1961 the same year as construction began on the infamous Berlin Wall. I was actually born on McConnells Air Force base(where the movie "The Day After" was made the movie was about the aftermath...  View profile

  • President Obama is one of the few(only 3) US Presidents that has won the Nobel Peace Prize
  • Pulled US forces out of Iraq
The President was not even expecting to get the Nobel Peace Prize and in his speech he was very humbled to be in the company of the many that have been awarded the Peace Prize.

here's a poll with some bad news for barack obama and the democrats: nobody really likes the health care reform plan. what would a majority of americans prefer? why, they would prefer a bill with the public option and no "states opt-out" clause. but the only way a healthcare bill with a public option can get passed into law is if it has an opt-out clause. this is why the democrats will lose a lot of seats in 2010. and unless the GOP picks a really awful candidate (yoo-hoo, sarah!), they'll likely have a good shot at retaking the white house in 2012. because the democrats are taking the second opportunity they've been given to fix the healthcare problem in this country and blowing it. badly.
