Why Am I Here?

Gene Kiernan
My life is a waste
I was put on this earth to fail

No one understands how I feel
And it seems they never will

Everything that is good in my life
I run into the ground

Self destruction
Seems the only course to take

Lower than dirt
I feel I have been thrown away

Trying to climb the mountain
But only fall and shatter my soul

I have been dealt a bad hand
That I can't seem to fold

Chained to the ground
I cannot pick myself up

My mind is a prison
That has no key

I am a ticking time bomb
Stay away or ill take you down with me

I am alone
Now and forever

There are times I think we all feel like this - hoping you are past it now - great emotion in these words!

You are not failing. You are definitely a good write. Just take care of yourseilf. Sometimes writing my negative thoughts helps me feel better.

All poems are not designed to be positive and uplifting. Very revealing and well written.
