Why I Am Mad at Michigan

When Will the Supposed Good Guys Do Their Jobs?

I live in Indiana and I spoke today with a federal officer about a child molester who had stayed with a female neighbor of mine a few months ago. I explained to him that yes, the man in question had been in the area, that I had notified the Michigan authorities where he was a parole violator, but that other neighbors had contacted the landlord and told him who the tenant's boyfriend was. The landlord had told the man he had to leave, and if the woman did not comply, she would be in violation of her lease, and would also be evicted. I explained to the officer that this had all occurred three months ago, and that I heard through the rumors that the woman had taken the man to the Ohio border and dropped him off. Nobody here in the area really knew where he was at now. I didn't ask the officer why it took so long for anyone to do anything, but I am sure he knew I was wondering. He himself had a puzzled look on his face when I told him it was that long ago. When Michigan finds out, and I am sure they will, I'm doubting they will care much. He's not in their state, so why should it bother them?

Same with a young lady, Samantha Kelly, of the age of 14 who told investigators she was raped. After word got out about her allegations, the alleged rapist's friends taunted her until she committed suicide. Well, not really. The alleged rapist's friends are still taunting her on her mother's Facebook page that she's set up as a memorial for her daughter. The prosecutor's office in Huron, Michigan, has closed the prosecution against the alleged rapist. They say they cannot prosecute because their only witness is unable to testify at trial.

With Amazon taking a particular Kindle book off their electronic shelves that was a how-to book on molesting children in a manner that would possibly result in shorter sentences than if the e-book's advice and tips were not followed, I see a great many people who believe it is acceptable to molest, rape, and bully others moving to Michigan. And you know what? Michigan can keep them.
