Why Do the American Idol Judges and Producers Want Lee Dewyze to Win American Idol ?

It is finally down to the final two contestants on American Idol, Lee Dewyze and Crystal Bowersox. Both of them are incredible performers and are deserving to win American Idol. But it sure does seem like the American Idol judges and producers want Crystal Bowersox to be the runner up and want Lee Dewyze to win American Idol.

Why have the judges been promoting Lee Dewyze to win American Idol ? For the past few weeks, the judges have been incredibly enthusiastic about the performances of Lee Dewyze, making him the odds on favorite to win American Idol. Prior to that, for many weeks the judges were pushing for Crystal Bowersox to win, making her the front runner during that period of time. Switching alliances, so to speak, from Crystal Bowersox to Lee Dewyze has given American Idol a great deal of publicity. This has increased the public interest in American Idol, thereby improving the ratings of the show.

What is another reason that American Idol wants Lee Dewyze to win American Idol ? He is more commercial and stands a better chance of selling records and becoming a star. Lee Dewyze has always seemed more willing to take the advice given to improve his performances. The style of Crystal Bowersox, on the other hand, is not commercial. In addition, she has been somewhat resistant to the suggestions made by American Idol judges and others regarding her performances and appearance. Since the American Idol winner receives a million dollar recording contract, American Idol may feel that the money would be better spent on Lee Dewyze than Crystal Bowersox.
