Why Anarchism Fails

An Non-viable Ideology

Lone Wolf
Of course it does, most people get that some don't.

This is a (very late) fallow up post to my rant on anarchism

Anarchists are anti-state, anti-government and anti-taxation. Despite popular belief there is no single form of anarchism. Like many ideologies anarchism exist as a spectrum ranging from anarcho-communism to anarcho-capitalism to a more commonly envisioned version of anarchism and none of them are in anyway viable.

Why is anarchism not-viable?
Sense I'm an American I will use the US government as an example; Look at all the infrastructure this country has. Roads, bridges, power lines, air ports, etc. allot of these would not exist if it was not for the government. The vast majority of road and bridge construction was funded by the government, air ports are subsidized by the government, power lines, internet and cable lines are subsidized by the government. These things are very expensive to build and maintain.
Governments put allot of money not only in infrastructure but in science as well and often into science that wouldn't get or get little financing otherwise.
Say what you like about government subsidies (there are a lot of things that should not be funded or subsidized by the government) but with out government subsidies we wouldn't have a lot of what we have.

Whether you like or hate the police they do serve a function in our society. Humans in groups generally get along (with those in the group) but there are always people who will cheat, steal and murder others. These people have to be dealt with and with out law and law enforcement they would be dealt with by vigilantes. As flawed as legal systems are at least in a legal system there are trials, while with vigilantism when people are convinced you did something they will come after you, in a legal systems if people believe you did something you didn't do you at least have a chance of not being punished for it. In a legal system there are investigators who you do not have to pay to investigate crimes, these investigators can solve crimes and as a result put away victimizers making places safer than they would otherwise be.

By far the largest reason anarchism fails is: power, money, and resources have a natural tendency to pool in the hands of a few. People who gain money will be more likely to spread that money to their children, other family members or friends, people who gain power are more likely to spread that power to their children, other family members or friends.
Say hypothetically some anarchist builds a space ship and takes a bunch of anarchists to colonize a planet far away and build a perfect anarchist society. In this society eventually social leaders will emerge, the charismatic and passionate will gain followers, this will lead to these charismatic and passionate people gaining political power. There will be people who will know how to gain more resources then others (many of whom will also be the people with the political and social power). These people with the political power, social power and greater resources will be less likely to spread them among the populace and more likely to spread them among their family friends.
Power and resources will pool in the hands of a few and all those problems that anarchism is supposed to solve will come back with a vengeance.
