Why Arizona Immigration Law SB 1070 is Causing National Outrage

Ms. Marie
Why are so many illegal immigrants and undocumented workers in the United States? Because the Government is not doing its job and protecting our borders. Arizona Immigration Law SB1070 is causing national outrage because it will give police officers the right to stop, question, and detain persons they suspect are illegal immigrants. Simply put, it's legalized racial profiling that can and will be abused.

Governor Jan Brewer of Arizona signed the country's harshest bill on illegal immigration into law last Friday, and it has become a grave concern to the American people. President Obama voiced his concerns about the negative affects of the Arizona law before it was signed, to no avail.

With all due respect to the President of the United States of America, what solid steps has the president taken or the federal government taken to improve immigration laws and protect our borders. We have troops stationed all over the world. American men and women are serving in other countries fighting for their rights, protecting their lands and peoples, yet our U.S. borders are not secure.

If our troops where at home protecting their homeland borders maybe we would have more control over undocumented illegal immigrants entering the United States. Taxpayer dollars are wasted on building walls that obviously do not work. Arizona's law is nothing more than an opportunity to take more of legal citizens right's away, it is not a solution to a problem. Making it a crime not to carry one's birth certificate, driver's license, or immigration documents at all times is stupid.

However, it may be a ploy to convince Americans that we should allow the government to "tag" us like herd. Don't be fooled into believing that implanting us, human beings, with micro-chips is not an ultimate goal. How does the saying go, "The end justifies the means." In this scenario, having implanted chips with all of our information would quickly prove that we are in fact citizens of the United States of America, and citizens wouldn't have to worry about leaving home without proof that they have every right to be here. Think about it we may be profiled and harassed by police, but who cares all we would have to do is be scanned. If you don't believe that human implants, VeriChips, are in the plan for our future think again. It's just a matter of convincing enough people that we need them [implanted chips] for our own good, or as with medical coverage making it a mandatory requirement for our own good.

Are you aware of the the proposed chips with our medical history on them? Have you heard or read about how they to will benefit us, humans? All we have to do is be tagged like live-stock, and it will lower health cost and could save our lives because doctors would have access to our complete medical history in an emergency.

Arizona's law may be State legislation, but it can also create enough outrage and fear in people to persuade the average person to agree that implanted chips is the answer. Fear is a powerful emotion, and it can cause irrational decisions. We as American citizens should not be forced, persuaded or mislead into giving up our rights.

Consider this, if our government cannot effectively control the influx of illegal immigrants, who for the most part come here to work and earn a living, how safe are we. One can't help but wonder if all the rights we've already sacrificed since 911 has made us more secure or not. Should American's now give up the right to walk, jog or drive down the street freely too? "It's okay officer stop me, question me, search me, and detain me if it's going to help control illegal immigration." Sounds ridiculous if you value your freedoms and rights.

Arizona wants to give police officers who are paid to serve and protect American citizens the right to harass, discriminate against and detain the public they serve. The federal government's failure to protect our borders is the underlying cause of the national outrage. President Obama can voice his objections and concerns but actions speak louder than words. What is the President and government going do to secure our borders? Wouldn't secure borders stop states like Arizona from ever considering or feeing the need to create laws such as SB1070?

so shold we just let the vermin get away with it. I dont care what color illegals are they are criminals. Deportation is better than reounding them up and sentencing them to hard labor. Obama is a traitor and proves it with his lawsuit against arizona

The Arizona immigration law is causing "national outrage!!!" excuse me? A recent poll indicates that 70 % of Arizonians and over 60% of all Americans support the Arizona law. And most , both pro and con, haven't even read the law. I would contend that if those Americans who haven't read it actually did so the percentage supporting it would clime above 70%. I think the outrage is because the federal government isn't enforcing its own laws which requires that only legal alians are allowed into the country.

My wife is a recent "legal" immigrant from the Ukraine who spoke no English upon entering this country. She immediately enrolled in an English class and in one year understands, speakes and writes english well enough to hold down a job as a nurse's assistant while she studies for her enterence exam at our local university to get her "American" degree in engineering. How many of the illegal alians streaming across our southern borders are doing that? I think that the real out

Come on, we know what is going on here. If you're in Arizona and look Latino, you're going to be profiled! No one is saying or doing anything about the undocumented folks coming in from Canada and Eastern European countries. We can have all the security we want, and that will not stop people from getting in illegally. We have entire industries here that depend on the labor of undocumented folks. That needs to stop if we truly want illegal immigration to stop. We also must streamline the procedure for legal immigration and make it less costly. That is a huge deterrent to coming in legally. My father immigrated to this country in the '40's, and it took him almost a full decade to become a U.S. citizen. All I'm saying is that there must be an easier way to gain citizenship, and it must be equal, not favoring one race over another.
