From business cards to networking, the purpose of your marketing and promotion efforts is to earn more profit, get more clients and referrals, and expand your business. Whether you have a product to sell or a service to offer, you have to connect with potential clients through good marketing strategies such as writing articles, commonly called article marketing. If done well, article marketing will attract a huge amount of traffic and visitors to your website.

Writing a decent article isn't enough. Your article must possess vital information that your clients and prospects need in order to get them to read it. When you write an article, keep in mind that you're not writing an essay about your business or a description of what you do. You're offering valuable information to your client in an effort to meet his or her needs. That's where you'll find success in article marketing.

Keyword rich articles with good sentence structure and readable grammar that is informative, entertaining and knowledgeable will encourage readers to actually finish your article and maybe even look for other articles you've written or subscribe to your newsletter. Failing to follow these simple tips when marketing with articles will result in lost time and money, and ultimately, a loss of business.

1. Articles should be original and not copied from other sources. It's completely acceptable and permissible to quote or reference other sources, but not simply to copy, word for word, what someone else has said. That's plagiarism and it's illegal.

2. Every article needs to include good keywords for better search engine optimization (SEO) and visibility. For instance, this article is on article marketing. You'll find the phrase "article marketing" appears several times.

3. On the other hand, never use keyword stuffing, meaning plugging in keywords where they don't belong just to fill your article with keywords. Search engines consider that SPAM and it can get you banned.

4. You don't have to be a prodigy writer to write good articles. Just keep the flow and ensure your articles are make sense.

5 Learning to grab the attention of your reader is key. And it's something most anyone can learn to do with practice. Read books and articles by professional writers to increase your skill.

6. Be careful when marketing with articles so that you don't write articles that sound like sales letters and you don't publish work that doesn't make sense. You can damage your online reputation in a heartbeat, so use caution.

7. If you truly cannot write a readable article, hire a professional. Your business depends on it.

To succeed in business naturally requires clients and customers. One of the best ways to attract them online is through effective and professional article marketing.

    You've got some good information here. I aim for 1.5% - 3% keyword density. That seems to work pretty well.
