Why Atheism?

For one thing I'm a rationalist. I love science and have a rational mind. You can't seriously expect me to believe some guy walked on water 2000 years ago. It's not happening now and it didn't happen than. Life is a serious business, If you want to get some joy out of it you need to know what your doing. Believing in improbable fairy tales just because a lot of people believe them is simply not rational.

In my view we are machines resulting from chemical reactions that took place a few billion of years ago. We are nanotech devices with tiny nanobots stuck together to make one large machine. There was no creator, we are the result of natural processes. I have no problem with this

I do have a big problem with basing your life ,and all your actions on children's fairy tails about angels and demons and Allah giving his word to Mohamed etc. this is plainly made up tripe. If you were born in the middle east, you probably follow Islam. If you were born in the west you probably follow Christianity, it's not about finding the truth of reality, its about enculturation. Do you really believe that so complex a mystery as the universe and our existence in it can be explained by stories about a bunch of robed, bearded sad sacks herding sheep a few thousand years ago?

The stories in the bible and Koran are full of slavery , genocide and burning in hell fire

Take a look at this- god makes a person, god knows the persons future when he makes them, god knows person x is going to hell, god knows exactly why and what personality trait will lead to what behavior that will send them there at what time. God also knows what ingredient to ad to prevent this. Are you following this? God doesn't add that ingredient and creates the person any way. So what is he thinking? " Ill just roast them in hell?" It had to be something like that , ergo why call him god? What kind of sick demented mind would be capable of such an act? It would take the worst kind of serial killer to do such a thing. And this you worship? I have to say ; shame!

What religion you base your entire life on is largely dictated by where you grew up?

I agree with many of your points. I think what we could do is take religion symbolically and possibly utilize some of the good points while disregarding the obviously innapropriate.
