Word of advice from someone who knows: Avoid AmSouth Bank at all costs. Do not open an account with them. If you do this you will do so at your own risk. Why should you not open an account with AmSouth Bank? Because they will cheat you. They will steal your money and when you try to reason with them you will be forced to talk with employees who have apparently undergone the same lobotomy procedure as anyone who still believes the war in Iraq is going well for the US.
I don't mean to attack the AmSouth Bank tellers. The AmSouth Bank tellers are fine. But if you should find yourself in the deeply unfortunate situation of being forced to hold a conversation with an AmSouth Bank executive, prepare to engage in a conversation that be roughly as penetrable as Abbott and Costello's Who on First routine. I was charged $140.00 bank charged something that didn't cost AmSouth any money. Upon realizing this I was quickly credited with half the amount. Unfortunately, I was told I'd be refunded the full amount but that it would have to wait for the monthly series of whatever the heck it is that banks do with all those charges that customers must put up with because we have no other recourse.
Guess what? I never received that full refund. In other words, AmSouth Bank STOLE $70.00 from my account with no adequate explanation. AmSouth Bank, I'm sure, isn't any different from any other bank. They're all crooks and we're all stuck paying all their charges because the American economic system is built in such a way that if you don't have a bank account you are essentially unable to buy a house or pay for electricity or get a credit card or open a Paypal account. Frankly, I'm sick of banks. Not just AmSouth Bank, though right now frankly I wouldn't shed any tears if their executive officers suddenly found themselves at the mercy of a few Al Qaeda operatives.
I'm tired of doing businesses with banks. The tellers are typically the only ones in the entire corporate structure who have any idea of what's really going on inside the bank; bank managers are about as useful as Donald Rumsfeld in a military strategy meeting. I can't get away from them; I know that. I may even accept it one day. But for now, I guess the only way I'll ever get my $72 dollars worth back from AmSouth Bank is to warn as many as people as I can to stay away from them.
AmSouth Bank cheats you.
AmSouth Banks steals your money.
AmSouth Bank managers are idiots who don't can't explain the simplest banking techniques to you.
If you have money in an AmSouth Bank, take it out now. If you are considering opening an account with AmSouth Bank, do you yourself a favor and open an account with a loan shark instead. At least a loan shark lets you know he'll put a hurting on you. AmSouth Bank lies and pretends they are trustworthy and honest.
AmSouth Bank is not honest.
They may very well, in fact, be in the service of Satan.

Post a CommentHi. What's with the cry-baby routine? All of this griping and moaning over a few hundred bucks? Sweet baby Jesus, if you were bright enough to actually stay on top of your finances, you wouldn't have a problem.
Most of the time, when people have problems getting situations like this rectified it has far less to do with the bank staff and much, much more to do with the whiner who is incapable of property explaining/verbalizing the situation and processing the responses. In other words, the only people who get screwed by banks are the dumb ones.
I've been a Regions customer since Union Planters in 2000. I'm quickly finding out they abuse this NSF thing beyond any bank I've ever used. Set me back $93 because of their screwy accounting.
Wow if only I had found this post 9 months ago when I opened my AmSouth account... I have my account here in Tennessee and when I first opened it I ordered checks and had to have them redone 4 times because they kept getting the information wrong and I wrote it down right in front of them the way I wanted them each time. Then I ordered address labels that had to be done 8 times and they didn't even get them right then so I gave up on the labels. When I got my bank card it was wrong also I thought was just having a bad week with all this going on but finally they got one right 4 cards later.
Now I have been out of the state living in Las Vegas as a live in caregiver/roommate and my bank card was used without my knowledge and the over draft fees of $33.00 each added up to well over $450+ and when I got back into town I talked to the lady I opened the account with and she told me I couldn't get any of my money back unless I signed for an investigating and I did but that was only for
You think the war in Iraq is not going well?
You are all pathetic losers. You all need to get a life and learn how to balance your checkbooks and keep up with your finances. Yes, Amsouth is greedy and deceitful, but don't spend the money you don't have. Make sure you have the money in your account and don't assume that your balance is sufficient by checking at the ATM. It is up to you individually to keep track of your account, and not trhough a metal box that hands out cash. Take some responsibility for your actions. AmSouth is following federal regulations. Granted, they twist those regulations in their favor, but still, it is within what is allowed by the US government. I have banked with AmSouth for over three years and have yet to have any kind of an overdraft fee or some strange hold placed on my account.
Check this out; Amsouth Bank transferred some money from my checking account to my ex-wife's savings account because her account was in the negative due to bank fees. My ex-wife's name was not on my account, nor did she ask the bank to transfer the money from my account. They claimed the mistake was made because we both had the same last name, and that our daughter's name was on both accounts. When I found out the error I called the bank, but they were not very cooperative; they agreed a mistake was made but refused to tell me whose account "my" money was in. It was ok for them to transfer my money to someone else's account, but it was not ok for them to tell me whose account it was. It took almost a week to get my money back.
Unbelievable! AmSouth has yet to explain to me why it added fees totally $65 to my account after I closed it. When I closed the account, they handed me cash and thanked me for being a loyal customer. Two months later they added $65 to my statement (not sure why they continted to send statements) and started sending bills. No one there has any answers and they don't even bother to answer my emails any more. They've told me it was straightened out so many times that I actually believed them. Just got another bill.
Check your account online and watch your money dissaper right before your eyes.It does you absolutley no good to keep a registry because even if you deduct your payments and it hasn`t cleared but you didn`t spend that money twice, they`ll say you are over drawen by that amount and charge you $36.00 nsf. They always have an explanation that even Eienstein couldn`t understand, finally your tired of arguing and they win anyway. I switched to them when my last bank being Northwest Georgia Bank was stealing all my direct deposit checks and then charging me nsf fees, they still tried to say I owed them $152.00 so I told them they had stolen enough to cover that and more so sue me.I`ve never herd from them agin.It is my opinion that all banks are thieves because they can be, and we let them.
try a hand at rationality,, it might serve your purpose better than just reacting to your environment.
My husband and I had a car loan through these idiots and payed the loan off 4 years ago and never recieved our title. We called to see what had happened to it and of course they said they had sent it.We never got it.The car is totalled from a wreck I had April30th and wehave been trying to get a lean release to get a duplicate title but they keep giving us the run a round.I wish I had never had to deal with these losers!!!
