Those Bachelor predictions were slightly wrong I'll admit because Brad opted to keep Chantal around. I'm still kind of confused over that decision and I truly thought Brad had much more chemistry with Ashley than Chantal. But it's always hard to predict "The Bachelor" because we aren't there. We don't see what happens when the lights and cameras aren't on. We also are only privy to certain scenes as edited by the producers. When it comes down to it, there seems to be a lot more Jake picking Vienna stories than Brad picking Emily.
But I could tell this much about "The Bachelor." Brad Womack was intimidated by the good looks of Emily Maynard on his first date. I could sense he was very nervous and jittery everytime he was around Emily. It was that puppy dog type reaction that made me feel as if Brad would choose Emily Maynard from a very early point in the season. Unlike other girls, Brad worked extremely hard to get to know Emily and it showed. In turn, I think Emily was fine with having Brad work hard to get know her, too. When that much effort was required, it was obvious to me and many other Americans that Emily was a woman well worth chasing. Emily wasn't the type to fall over in Brad's lap and say she was in love immediately. I think Brad had to respect the fact that she was moving at a slower rate than other girls and he could actually see something truly "real" developing. That may be one of the few times "The Bachelor" fans have witnessed such fireworks. That's why I predicted Brad Womack would pick Emily Maynard several weeks ago in my predictions story.
It's odd but I saw the exact same thing on the Jason Mesnick season of "The Bachelor." In fact, I thought all along that Jason had that same type of chemistry with Molly. What happened to Jason Mesnick? Mesnick picked a different girl, surprisingly. But he eventually realized what many like me saw unfolding on the edited version of the show. There was an undeniable chemistry taking place. The two weren't playing or acting as a couple. They just sort of grew into something a bit more special than what the other contestants had. For that reason, I predicted Jason Mesnick would choose Molly over Melissa. It didn't quite turn out that way in the short term but it seems the true love did prevail. Many Americans were upset that Jason turned away Melissa(or maybe just how he actually did it.) I didn't like that either on national television. I was still shocked when he picked Melissa instead of Molly at first. But I was excited when he actually picked the girl that just seemed to be the absolute best fit for him. So what is up with Jason and Molly these days? They are still together and after getting married last year. Nobody could have predicted that Jason would pull off a miracle in terms of picking Molly.
That's what I feel about the season of "The Bachelor" this year. If Brad picked Chantal, he would quickly regret not having selected Emily. That's because I feel Brad Womack and Emily Maynard just fit. Brad would have to be an absolute idiot to walk away from that show without Emily and I think he knows it. She's a different "catch" than most. I am not saying their relationship will stand the test of time if Brad picks Emily on "The Bachelor" on Monday night-but I think it has a great shot considering how terrific Emily appears to be.
And this by no means has any reflection on Chantal-who I think was a great final four pick.
Unlike Chantal, it just seems Emily fits Brad. I think the two are both humble and very quiet people. Unlike much of America, I wasn't mad when Brad Womack walked away from the two women on his last "The Bachelor" stint. I finally saw a man who appeared to have integrity and wasn't going to just say he is in love because the camera is on him. Brad didn't stand around flexing his abs eighteen times a show like Jake did. He appeared to truly be in search of something,.
He knew it would upset the women and America when he walked away last time on "The Bachelor"-but yet he still did what he felt was right. I'll have to admit I wasn't super happy that "The Bachelor" producers picked the guy for a second go around. It certainly sets an odd precedent where we get to know these reality television stars a little too well. But the show has actually turned out to be a pretty special year. I think this potential couple has an absolute great shot to last if both try to make it work. The chemistry is there and Brad was in awe of Emily from day one on the show. That's kind of the way it should be.
The other girls didn't make him so nervous and he always appeared to be in control. With Emily, I feel like Brad has always had to work a little bit harder to stay in her good graces. Much like many traditional relationships work, Brad has had to chase Emily Maynard because she wasn't just throwing herself at him-and he never seemed in control. He has to respect that and her. And I truly think he deserves a great girl for not shoving her off to the side when other women were just putting it out there with no regard.
I'll have to give Brad Womack credit if he picks Emily on the final rose ceremony. I think America will, too.
Womack has been much more fun to watch this season and I think people have gained a new respect for someone who had a horrible public relations makeover last time he was on "The Bachelor." But the most important thing aside from the show, he appears to have found a jewel in Emily Maynard. That's why I think it's an absolute no brainer that Brad will pick Emily and not Chantal on "The Bachelor." It will be as plain and apparent as the big smile on his face. The smile we've been waiting for from the stoic Brad Womack all season long.
