Boulder City, NV 89005
United States of America
Therefore, what are some of the other things that make this small town so special? Well you have its history. Boulder City was born when the Boulder Dam (now called Hoover Dam) was being constructed. At the time of the dam, being built it was considered as one of the largest Dams in the country. In addition, the old Boulder Dam Hotel still stands today and is where most people can go and learn much more about the history of Boulder City and the Dam. This hotel is also has been considered as one of the haunted places in the country.
Boulder City's history is not the only thing that is interesting about Boulder City. There is a park called Hemingway Park where one can play basketball, tennis, and let their kids play on the playground. There are picnic tables and grills to have parties and much more. There is also a large field with grass and herds of about 60 to 80 of big horn sheep can be found. You could literally walk about 8 feet from these animals and they do not run from you. If you sit at one of the picnic tables, they will literally eat the grass so close to you that you could hear them rip the grass and chew. If you were to arrive during late April and Early May, you can see the newborn sheep. If you want to go then arrive about 12:30pm then by 1:00pm and 2:00pm you can see them as they arrive. As with most animals, they are unpredictable so there is no guaranty on this time but I have not been disappointed once yet. They tend to stay as long as they want to so there is no set time when they leave. So why am I telling you this? Well I do not know anywhere else where you can be this close to a wild animal and just watch them without them running away or attacking you. Although, to remind you they are wild so do not pet and do not feed them. They are protected under the State as a state animal.
There are many shops and restraints that you could go to and enjoy. I would suggest Evens for a very good and old time restaurant. It also has a bar so kids must have parent or guardian with them. They only serve Lunch and Dinner. However, if you want a great breakfast then go to Coffee Cup. This restaurant is very old and has its own history on how it got its name. It all started when people came into an old café with their own coffee cups and some of them would leave their cups at the café. So when this happened the owner would collect them and now when you walk into the restaurant you will see all the coffee cups along the walls being displayed for all to see. They have some of the best breakfast food. It gets busy in the morning and lunch times so be prepared to stand in line. However, the food is well worth the wait.
There are many other stores and other places to enjoy. You would just have to come here and take the time to explore this historic town.
