Why Bronzers Can Be Good for You

Marki E.
For many, a tan is a very much sought after skin tone and gives an impression of one who is well traveled and can afford to lie in the hot sun even during the winter.

For those who do not want to risk their health by sun bathing or can not afford to travel to warm and exotic places and either do not have access to or do not want to employ tanning beds, skin bronzing is a very good option. You can also hide uneven skin tone or other skin blemishes or manifestations by applying skin bronzers.

The use of skin bronzers provides a much safer alternative to lying out in the sun or using artificial tanning methods. The risk of skin cancer and the skin altering properties of UV light can be avoided completely. The constituents of a lot of the products include substances that help maintain the skin in a very healthy condition. The ease of use of these products and the amount of time spent getting the tan more than makes up for the cost.

You may now be asking yourself what this bronzer is all about. A skin bronzer is like make up, but has the property of lasting a lot longer. Products available can last for up to 7 days on a single application. Products that were used before could be washed off with ease using soap.

There are various brands now available which one can choose from. Some of these include vitamins for healthy skin.

Bronzers can be applied as with make-up with some additional precautions. All ornaments must be removed as they can get affected. The bronzer must not be applied to close to the eyes or the mouth. You may want to protect your scalp by using a shower cap.

The amount of bronzer applied will determine the resultant skin color. You can also emulate the effect of the sun on the skin by applying more bronzer on the areas that the sun normally tans most like the cheek bones. By judicious applications you can make the skin tone look like the real thing or even better.

The bronzer need not be applied to the face only. You can apply it all over the body. However, you need to ensure that you apply the correct amounts of bronzer to all areas to avoid the skin tone looking fake by applying the correct amount of bronzer to areas between toes or behind the ears.

You can also use a bronzer to high-light to change the way facial features look by using different amounts of bronzer in strategic areas. Experiment with different amounts of bronzer to the nose, forehead and cheeks to highlight or hide a particular face feature.

As you become more expert in the use of the bronzer, you can darken the skin by increasing the amounts applied.

As you have seen, there is a lot you can do with skin bronzers that can be difficult to achieve by sunbathing or artificial tanning and without the risk or sunburn or risking skin cancer from the sun's UV light.

Funny. I've always shied away from using bronzers and opted for the tanning bed. However, it isn't the best idea for prolonging healthy looking skin. Thanks for the reminder. :)
