Your business plan must show how you are going to find them plus how you will get them to notice what you have to offer.
If you only have the business plan in your mind, you are doomed to failure. It is not a bad idea to think about it during a period of time. However, if you do not write you plan down, you will miss some key points that are vital to your business. Also, a written out business plan tells you before you start your business if you are just wasting your time. You can tell if your product or service is too expensive with today's rising economy.
You need to know who your main competition is. Your business plan allows you to see what you must do in order to gain the competitive advantage over other businesses that are selling a similar product or service.
Even if you write out an extensive business plan, this does not guarantee success. This is especially true if you just write out a hundred page document and file it away and never look at it again. It has to be reviewed within the first couple of months after you start your business. You have to see what is working and what is not. By doing this, you can make changes to your plan as needed.
